How Many Chips Do I Need?
Choosing the right amount of chips is important in order for your to have the right amount of chips for your home games. This depending on how many people are playing. Here are our recommendations on poker chip sets:
For 2-3 people, you'll need 200-300 chips
For 4-5 people, you'll need 350-500 chips
For 5-6 people, you'll need 500-650 chips
For 6-8 people, you'll need 650-750 chips
For 8-10 people, you'll need 750-1000 chips
For more than 10 people, add 50 each.
What Color Chips Should I Buy?
Whether
you are buying poker chips for a home cash game or for a home poker
tournament, you really should not need more than four-five different
colors (denominations) of chips. We recommended that you purchase in a
ratio that has more of the two middle denominations and less of the
highest and lowest. For example for a 500 chip set with five colors,
