I have been asked to help run a series of 21 tournaments for the Manitoba, Canada, arm of the Special Olympics. The first 20 will seat about 70 players, with the winners and others qualifying for the grand finale which will seat 150 players. I have been asked to find chips. We can buy dice chips (shudder) and have them gold foil stamped, but I would love to do something better.
Chip security is an issue, so the chips need to be unique in some way, limited run or not readily available in Canada.
We need something along the lines of
1200 x $25
1200 x 100
600 x 500
500 x 1000
100 x 25000
We want to run a T10,000, with 2 half re-buys. Ideally we would like to get something that has resale value in case this tourney series is a one year thing.

Any suggestions out there?
Faux Clays!!! With either custom labels/stamps/ dye they will fit the bill at a very reasonable price. Not only do they have resale value, they will probably appreciate in value!!!
Honestly if you're not into using stock chips from somewhere I'd suggest going with a decent chip that you can label. I bought a ton of River Poker Tour chips (about $.08 ea) and had one of CT's own design a label for the front & back -- took some time for sure, but they look fine and although are not ceramic or clay chips, nobody has ever complained. The pain of course is the time it takes to label -- then again, that's what kids are for!
Were you looking to special order new chips or picking up some used chips at a good price? I have been helping a friend by selling some Chipco chips he had made for a card room in Rochester, N.Y.. He also has hot stamped diamond chips for sale. Let me know if it sounds like anything you would be interested in.
