Chips: 198 | | | Looking for Paulson Classics I'm looking to buy a set of 400 - 500 Paulson classic (trademark) chips with denoms from $10 to $1,000. PM me if you have a set you think I may be interested in. Thanks.

They don't have all the denoms you want, however. They used to have $500s at a higher price, but I don't see them on the site any more (except in a fixed set of mint chips). The $1000 chips are the larger 43mm chips, and are in very short supply. |

Chips: 198 | | | Re: Looking for Paulson Classics Just in case anyone has been following my search for Paulson Classics (and if you have...GET A LIFE!!!) I got my samples yesterday and I have to say that I was disappointed.... GASP! yes, I was. I love the colors, the denoms (although I could ask for a higher quality label for $1 per chip), and the idea of having a set of Paulsons, but I just couldn't see them as $400 - $500 chips! They were much lighter than I expected, almost like a hard styrofoam (I know I am killing all of you Paulson die-hards, sorry). They did have a nice sound, but overall I couldn't see myself paying hundreds of dollars for a set of these chips. That being said, I've been looking at the Nexgen Las Vegas Edge Spots. Can anyone offer me any insight there? Will they be a noticable step up from the 11.5 gram composites I have now? I would appreciate hearing other peoples experiences with them, and also if they did custom lables for them how they worked with them. Thanks to everyone who contacted me about the Paulson Trademarks, good luck with your sets. |

Chips: 2 | | | Re: Looking for Paulson Classics I would highly suggest getting a group of samples before making a large purchase. Being down on the Trademark Paulson's is your preference. I agree with you that the labels are weak but I'm confused about the styrofoam feel and as far as weight I believe these are 9.5g which is just slightly less than casino Paulsons at 10g. I have samples of Nexgens, Paulson trademarks, Nevada Jacks ceramic skulls & their desert sands. I own a number of casino Paulsons and recently sold my set of 500 Trademarks. If you don't like the feel and composition of the Paulson trademarks I don't think you'll like any Paulson. Large inlays do change the feel of the chip (a little slicker vs the regular trademark inlay) but the composition is basically the same.
Nexgens are very nice composites but 11.5g is a heavy chip in my opinion, you don't notice it with just one but shuffle a stack and it is very noticeable. They are also a slick chip and can be difficult to stack. With this said they will be a huge improvement over any of the cheaper composite chips. Samples will let you see this for yourself.
Good luck! |

Chips: 198 | | | Re: Looking for Paulson Classics Thanks for the info Muddy. The styrofoam comment was more of a look than a feel. I liked the feel of a stack of them in my hand, and the sound, but individual chips were just too light for my taste. I like to know I have a chip in my hand. It really is a shame because I loved the colors and the denoms but I just couldn't get myself to spend that kind of money on a chip that I just thought was ok. I am in the process of ordering some samples now, so hopefully I'll find something that gives me what I am looking for. Thanks again for your input. |

Chips: 198 | | | Re: Looking for Paulson Classics After getting a lot of samples and handling them all for hours on end I have decided that the Paulson Trademarks are my favorite! Once U shuffled the samples for a few hours I really started to like the feel of them compared to the Nexgens. SO......I am in the market again for a set of 400 - 500 Paulson Trademarks with denoms $10 $25 $100 $500 $1000. I'd be curious though if anyone has some insight into how these denoms hold up in tournament play. Right now we use non-denoms that we vaule at $50 $100 $200 $500 $1000. Thanks. |
