Actually I think he bought at Costco before, but I think they don't always have them in stock. Besides I wanted a pricepoint for a good online vendor. Like you, I suspect Costco may beat online + shipping charges.
He doesn't do internet, and many of his players don't like the Copag cards I gave him to try. So I decided to post here and see what I got ...

I bet with one more game, they would change their mind. They don't like them because they're different, and people fear that. They are a thousand times better though, and last a ton longer. If I were him, I would make them play with Copags.

I would pick up the Dal Negro Freedoms and tell the group that these cards are made of a new paper material...after a few games they'll fall in love with them and he can break the news to them that have been playing with the dreaded plastic cards.
Other than that try Sams Club as I hear they carry 12 decks for $13 or so dollars.
