Chips: 75 | | | Good T15,000 setup? Heres what im thinking, a T15,000 setup each player getting the following.
30 black (100) - T3000
20 grey (500) - T10000
2 orange (1000) - T2000
with blind starting at 100/200, and going to 200/400, 300/600, etc every 15 mins.
Think i have too many chips? Not enough of one? And about how long do you think this will take?
Also, i was maybe thinking maybe a T2750 (dont ask the number, just give out even chips)
with 30 green (25) - 750
20 black (100) - 2000
with blinds starting at 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 150/300, etc
Which do you think is better? Im leaning towards the first one, but i dont know yet.
Thanks, and any info is appreciated. |

Chips: 9,215 | | | 52 chips per player is a lot to start with. People like to have big stacks, but you will need 520 chips just to start with 10 players. 60 grays to color up the blacks, and 130 orange to color up the gray.
That's more than 700 chips to run a 10 player tourney.
It will work, but may not be the most practical.
OTOH, this site is not really about practicality anyway, is it?

Chips: 75 | | | Haha, i really like having alot of chips at the table. And with us, we never seem to color up anyway, so about 550 chips will work.
Thanks for the advice. |

Chips: 385 | | | Looks like a big chip stack to start with, but there's nothing wrong with that. I think that 15 minutes is pretty short for the limits, I would recommend a minimum of 20 minutes per round. Remember that its not like the internet, you only get about half as many hands in per hour. I use the same structure type and we usually do 25 or 30 minute rounds. If the buy in is higher than normal we even go 45 minute rounds so that it is not as much luck, but more skill.
I could tell you how long it will take if you know how many people will be playing. |

Chips: 92 | | | If you like lots of chip and with 7 - 10 players, that will be a very good setup. |

Chips: 385 | | | If you have 10 people and you have a structure like this
100/200
200/400
300/600
500/1K
1K/2K
2K/4K
3K/6K
5K/10K
It should end during the 5K/10K level (maybe the end of the 3K/6K). So if you did 20 minute levels, it would be over in around 2 and half hours. 30 minute levels would take you to 3 and a half or 4 hours.
Now if you have 7 people it should end during the 3K/6K level. So you can dictate how long the tournament will last by adjusting the time for each of the levels.
Note: If you play with a bunch of total newbies or aggresive maniacs, it could go quicker because people getting knocked out faster than normal. If it takes longer, then you guys are playing too conservatively or taking too many smoke breaks or something.
Hope that helps. |
