Re: Opinion on my Blind Setup

The jump from round 4 to 5 is a big one, especially relative to the one previous.
I would either make round 4 600/1200 or round 5 800/1600.

Re: Opinion on my Blind Setup

Within 1 hour of starting, even though you have starting stacks of 15k, a lot of players will be reduced to equal or less than 10 BB's therefore starting an all-in fest that likely won't end. If that's what you intend then I'm OK with that, but usually in my games if I start with a huge stack like that I intend for the game to last longer.

Good luck;
BPT

I also think that jump is too high. Also the jump from level 8 to 9 is way to steep.

Re: Opinion on my Blind Setup

Thanks for the input. The problem is I have a mix of people who want quicker games to play more through the night, and then others who want it a bit slower. I always have a hard time pleasing both. That is why the above idea was to start off slower and then after about 2 hours start slimming the field quicker. If this is a bad idea I may change it.

Thanks again I appreciate the input.

I usually try to get the blinds to double every 2 levels (after round 2 at least). With 15-20 minute levels, this seems to work out pretty well - not too fast, not too slow. Usually around 4 hours for 10-15 players if we start with 100 big blinds each. Maybe something like:

1 - 100-200
2 - 200-400
3 - 300-600
4 - 400-800
5 - 600-1200
6 - 800-1600
7 - 1000-2000
8 - 1500-3000
9 - 2k-4k
10 - 3k-6k
11 - 4k-8k
12 - 6k-12k
13 - 8k-16k
14 - 10k-20k
15 - 15k-30k
16 - 20k-40k
etc.

Should be done around level 13 for one full table (so 3.5 to 4.5 hours depending if you have 15 or 20 minute levels).

X2!! And I would make your starting stacks $20,000 (100bb). It won't add a huge amount of time, but enough to prevent the allin-fest a little longer.
