Possible structure?

Is it possible to run a 14-18 person tourney with this breakdown?

80 x T100
150 x T500
125 x T1000
25 x T5000

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: Possible structure?

It's going to be pretty difficult. You could do this with a few more chips:

5xT100, 7xT500, 6XT1000, 2xT5000

90 hundreds, 126 five hundreds, 108 thousands, and 36 five thousands

You would need 10 more hundreds and 11 more five kays. All this is based on 18 players. You would need more for color ups.

You could also lose the five kays and go 5xT100, 7xT500, 6xT1000 for a T10,000 tourney, using the extra 500s to make up for two players' lack of 100s. Obviously that is not ideal, but it is doable.

Blinds something like 100-200, 200-400, 300-600, etc.

Sure, no problem.

If you're going to have a full 18-person tourney, I'd go with this:
4 x $100
8 x $500
4 x $1000
1 x $5000

If you get just 16 people to show up, I'd increase the starting stack to this:
5 x $100
9 x $500
5 x $1000
1 x $5000

In either case, there a few issues:
  • You won't have room for rebuys
  • Color-ups -- you can color up almost all the 100s with 500s, but you'll have to use some 1000s when you have a full 18 players
  • Blinds -- I would start with 100/100 blinds for the first level. If you start with the standard 100/200, you only have 67-75BB, but then you can have a longer level 1 to get more play at 100/200.
Good luck and have fun!

Re: Possible structure?

Thanks for the responses guys. I came up with pretty much the same as you Tomb. I can work out the starting stacks but the blind schedule is a bit difficult with that few of 100s.

I am between tourney sets (my ASMs aren't done yet ) and a buddy is having a tourney this weekend......with dice chips.

I thought I might get an inexpensive tourney set to tide us over and the set mentioned in the OP was generously offerred up bay another CTer.

Looks like I might have to put up with the dice chips for one night.
