ESPN was rerunning the 2004 WSOP ToC the other night,
I tuned in about half way through but it got me thinking about the structure.
Here's what I think I know:
10 invited players, free roll
Doyal Brunson
Johnny Chan
T.J. Cloutier
Annie Duke
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Ivey
Howard Lederer
Daniel Negreanu
Greg Raymer
Chip Reese
2 million dollar purse
payout for first place only
2 million in chips in play
2 denominations:
yellow 1000
black 5000
200,000 starting stacks
100 x yellow (1000)
20 x black (5000)
didn't pay enough attention to the blind structure to rememeber.
So what I was wondering:
Can you fill in what I missed, and correct anything that was inacurate?
Have you ever tried this structure?
What chip do you have to support this structure ?
(I have enough Super Diamonds to do it)
I was watching this tonite and thought about your thread. I am pretty certain they started with more than 20 blacks (5000 chips) so I think they probably gave out
50x yellow 1000
30x black 5000
The blinds definitely started at 1000-2000. I think you would need
500 yellow (or whatever color is the 1000 chip)
300 black (or whatever color is the 5000 chip)
50 blue (or whatever color is the 10000 chip) to color up the 1000's
You could also color up the blacks but you wouldnt have many chips on the table.
