hello! i would like some advice for our tournament that we will play next saturday.

right now the structure is:
starting chips 3000
players 35
new blinds level after 20 minutes.

400/800

1000/2000
1500/3000
2000/4000
3000/6000
4000/8000

we want the game to end after 4 hours effective playing time. so with breaks it will be around 5 hours. how does the structure look? have had complaints that after 20 min the starting stacks is only 30bb and therefore there will be almost no postflop play. maybe thats no problem?
is it possible to get better playing in this limited time?

It's extremely unlikely for you to have a 'good' tournament with 35 people that ends in 4 hours.

Just add a 25-25 level at the beginning to calm the fears of the players..remove the 1500-3000 level. The Tourney should be over pretty close to the 2000-4000 level which puts you at 4hrs right on. Tournaments will end close to when the blinds reach the starting stack level.

Well, you can't have lots of time to play AND a short tourney . . . unless you steeply raise the blinds after 2 hours or so.

And the issue with only 30 x BB could a real problem. If your lowest chip is a $25, why not go to a $5,000 starting stack?

By my calculations based on typical players, a 35-man T$3,000 tourney ($105,000 total chips) should be over when the BB is about $8,000, maybe a little sooner. In your case, that's almost 5 hours. So you'd need to target for a 4K/8K SB/BB about level 12 or so. Maybe your group will bust out sooner....

But here's one possible solution:

There are a couple of 2x jumps in the blinds there -- if you're okay with that consider this a decent option

First off, T3000 is not enough chips. 60 BB is pretty small stacks then they double the next round and you only have 30 BB.

Your blinds look very great. Except for one part. I don't link how the blinds double from 500-1000 to 1000-2000. 300-600 to 400-800 is a 33% increase and 400-800 to 500-1000 is a 25% increase. Then 500-1000 to 1000-2000 is a 100% increase.
