30 Player Tournament

Hi guys (and girls?)

Knowing that probably a lot of people asked this question before, I wanted to get some recommendations for a tourney set up with the following settings:

-30 players
-6-7 hours
-1500 chips (dont know the different numbers of chips exactly but we should have sufficient from each color)
-texas no limit holdem

Hmm, what else can I tell you? I would like to have a slow starting blind structure with a faster increase in the end

Ok thx so much for good structures

Re: 30 Player Tournament

Below is the stack and blind structure for an annual 30 person tourney I play in. Basically the first couple levels are lower blinds and 45 minutes long. After that the levels are 25 minutes each. They pruposely start the blinds and 10/20 for 45 minutes to give the major donks in the tourney more play for their money (It is a $200 buy in). I don't remeber exactly wha the starting stacks were except that they totaled 1500 and were made up of everything but the 1k chip. If you really want to press the action later in the tourney you can add antes. For te record this torunament is a lot of fun, but they don't have the best set up. Dice slugs are used for chips being the first problem.
I'm sure you will get a lot more help from the memebers here who have been making tourney structures longer than I have. The structure below needs some tweaking for sure, Hopefully this gives you a start
J

Starting stack: $1500.00 chips.
Chip values
White $10
Red $50
Blue $100
Green $500
Black $1000

Blinds Time

$10/$20 45 minutes
$20/$40 45 minutes
$30/$60 25 minutes
$50/$100 25 minutes
$100/$200 25 minutes
$150/$300 25 minutes
$200/$400 25 minutes
$300/$600 20 minutes
$400/800 20 minutes
$500/$1000 Rest of Way

Re: 30 Player Tournament

30 players X 1500 chips = 45,000 x 4% = 1800 (BB at the end of the game).

Blinds go:
5-10
10-20
15-30
20-40
30-60
40-80
colorup 5's
50-100
75-150
100-200
150-300
colorup 25's
200-400
300-600
400-800
600-1200
800-1600
1000-2000 <--- should end here
1500-3000

18 total blind levels (including 2 colorup breaks). 30 minutes for 4 levels and 20 minutes for the rest should equal about 6 hours and 40 minutes.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Re: 30 Player Tournament

Without knowing the quantity of chips of each colour you have, this'll just be a suggestion as to how I would setup a T1500 tourney:

Per Player:
10 x T5
10 x T25 (Plus 2 x T25 to colour-up T5's)
7 x T100 (Plus 3 x T100 to colour-up T25's)
1 x T500 (Plus 3 x T500 to colour-up T100's)

For T1500.

That's what I would start with, but of course, there could be a limitation from your chipset that I don't know about.

I run a 30 player T1500 twice a month, and start with exactly this. My blinds are lik so:

Level Blinds
1 5 / 10
2 10 / 15
3 15 / 25
4 25 / 50
Break 1 10 Minutes
5 50 / 100
6 75 / 150
7 100 / 200
8 150 / 300
Break 2 10 Minutes
9 200 / 400
10 300 / 600
11 400 / 800
12 500 / 1000
Break 3 10 Minutes
13 500 / 1500
14 1000 / 2000
Although lately I've pushed the breaks to every 4 levels and added a 600/1200 and 800/1600 instead of the one 500/1500

My tourneys last about 5 hours, with 20 minute blind levels. Push them to 30 minutes you'd probably go 6-7 hours.

Re: 30 Player Tournament

10/15 and 15/25? Just curious to why these blinds are like this when all the other BB are double the SB.
