HELP!!! SEE POST #11 FOR RE-WORKED STRUCTURE - OPINIONS PLEASE - T5000 rebuy tourney

What do you guys think about this for a T5000 with unlimited rebuys in the first three levels, and and optional add-on at the end of the rebuy period?

Total players = 10 (1 table)

I was thinking making each level 20 minutes, possibly 25.

50 - 100
75 - 150
100 - 200 COLOR UP 25s
200 - 400
300 - 600
400 - 800
600 - 1200
800 - 1600 COLOR UP 100s
1000- 2000
1500 - 3000 COLOR UP 500s
2000 - 4000
3000 - 6000
4000 - 8000
5000 - 10000

I can't seem to find a T5000 blind schedule posted anywhere, so I kind of worked of a T4000 and adjusted a bit. Reason for the 5000 is because I want the add on to a Zen 5K plaque!

Your opinions are more than welcome and very much appreciated!

Re: HELP!!! T5000 rebuy tourney

Here's what we use. It's slow at first for lots of play, but then it gets more serious.

Level...SB.....BB
1.....$25......$50
2.....$50......$100
3.....$75......$150
4.....$100......$200
5.....$150......$300
6.....$200......$400
7.....$300......$600
8.....$500......$1,000
9.....$1,000....$2,000
10....$1,500....$3,000
11....$2,000....$4,000
12....$3,000....$6,000
13....$4,000....$8,000
14....$5,000....$10,000
15....$6,000....$12,000
16....$8,000....$16,000
17....$10,000...$20,000
18....$15,000...$30,000
19....$20,000...$40,000
20....$30,000...$60,000
21....$40,000...$80,000
22....$50,000...$100,000

Depending on the number of players and amount of time, we sometimes skip level 3 and/or 7 to speed things up.

Re: HELP!!! T5000 rebuy tourney

That's very similar to my T10,000. To go to T5000, I'd just throw a 25-50 level on the front. I like deep-stacks, so you'll find my suggestion is a pretty gentle progression for 20 minute levels. Might even be able to reduce to 15 minute levels throughout, or after the 2nd break.

I've found that, even though it doesn't look like much of a difference, going from 400-800 to 600-1200 always seems to be a crippling jump for the small stacks (at a single table), so I added a 500-1000 level. This allows me to change the doubling period from every 2 rounds at the beginning, to doubling every 3 rounds once it gets closer to end-game (i.e. after the 400-800 level), like this:

25-50 (optional)
50 - 100
75 - 150
100 - 200
150-300
break - COLOR UP 25s
200 - 400
300 - 600
400 - 800
500-1000
break
600 - 1200
800 - 1600
1000 - 2000
1300 - 2500
break - COLOR UP 100s
1500 - 3000
2000 - 4000
2500 - 5000
(no break, but TD (or someone trusted by TD)
can colour-out some 500s at this point, if desired)

3000 - 6000
4000 - 8000
5000 - 10000
6000 - 12000
8000 - 16000
10000 - 20000
etc. (doubles every 3 levels)

Also, I don't see the hurry to get the 500s out of play. With only 5000 in starting stacks, there might not be enough 1000s on the table to make it look good! I always try to keep 2 denoms on the table, even if one is obsolete, and usually try to get about half-and-half at end game. Don't want the heads-up finally to have < 80 chips total...

Good point about the 500s...as chip-freaks...we always want the table to look good chipwise! I think I'm going to leave them in play!!!

Re: HELP!!! T5000 rebuy tourney

Just a thought... we avoid using the 25's and 50" all together we just have the rebuy period be for the first two blind structures which run 30 mins each then they go to 20 mins each... once the timer has gone off at the end of the second period we play one more hand at that blind level as the last chance to rebuy or add on..... (aka give short stacks chance to throw in and hope..lol)

so to avoid the 25's and 50's we start

Period 1: 100-100 30 mins
Period 2: 100-200 30 mins
Last hand to rebuy or add on..
Period 3: 200-400 20 mins

structure beyond that is pretty normal...

3-6
4-8
5-1k
we do hit a 700 - 1500 here to break the big jump
1k-2k

etc....

Just a little different way to do it....

Re: HELP!!! T5000 rebuy tourney

Some good advice already, but I'll chime in with the blinds I use:

25-50
50-100
75-150 (Last round to rebuy in your case)
100-200
150-300
Break/Color Up T25
200-400
300-600
400-800
600-1200
800-1600
Break/Color Up T100
1000-2000
1500-3000
2000-4000
2500-5000
Break/Color Up T500
3000-6000
4000-8000
5000-10000
6000-12000

this is the same structure our group uses too. only difference would be the bb on the 2nd and 3rd levels. we go with 50/100 and 75/150. our rounds are 20 min until the first break then 15 rounds thereafter. seems to work pretty good.
