Chips: 6,495 | | | Re: 150 player, 7 hr tourney starting stack and blind schedule please i just quickly came up with a quick t1000 freezeout tourney with medium speed and slightly aggressive ante (1/3 of sb).
total playing time for 150 players could range from 5h to 6h40m depending on playing styles. then you have to add the break times as well
as for the chip distribution....it really depends on the chips you have available (ie. qty of each denom)...so i'll reserve my suggestion until you post your chipset
here's the blind schedule that i quickly came up with (25min levels)
-/10/20
-/20/30
-/30/60
-/50/100
25/75/150
25/100/200
50/150/300
50/200/400
100/300/600
100/500/1000
200/700/1400
300/1000/2000
500/1500/3000 (could end here...)
500/2000/4000
1000/3000/6000
1000/5000/10000 (or could end here)
2000/7000/14000
3000/10000/20000
5000/15000/30000 |

Anyone know or have a link to suggest starting stack and blind schedule? Thanks. | with those chips, you want to start with 500 chips, i guess.
500 chips * 150 players = 75k in play.
so play will end somewhere around the 2k/4k level. work backwards from there...build a blind schedule, with your goal to get to 2k/4k in 7 hours.
good luck. |

Chips: 37 | | | Re: 150 player, 7 hr tourney starting stack and blind schedule please Thanks for the info. Is there an easy way to modify this to eliminate the antes? I played in a tournament that had antes and it seemed like it really slowed the game. Maybe it was just me but it seemed like the dealers were constantly reminding people to post and spending time sorting out correct amounts. Thanks again. |

Thanks again. | The antes are there to speed the game up by encouraging action and discouraging players from sitting back and waiting for aces. If you eliminate the antes, it will most likely make your game last longer. |

it won't slow down your tourny if you don't let it. you'll likely finish at 1k/2k...as i said earlier, all that matters is getting to that blind level at the time mark you're shooting for. |

20 min blind levels, 1500 in starting chips Code: SB BB M Inc.

400 800 1.25 1.33
600 1200 0.83 1.5
800 1600 0.63 1.33
1000 2000 0.5 1.25
1500 3000 0.33 1.5
2000 4000 0.25 1.33
3000 6000 0.17 1.5
5000 10000 0.1 1.67
8000 16000 0.06 1.6 Of course, I'm not taking into account colorup times, or breaks. Make it fewer chips or fewer blind levels to make it finish in time |

Chips: 298 | | Re: 150 player, 7 hr tourney starting stack and blind schedule please Ante's Slow things down but also speed things up (I know its a paradox).
It takes longer for each hand with ante's but The tournament as a whole is shortened by the use of them. It stops people sitting on their short stacks when it comes close to the bubble and generally creates more play.
If you want a structure without ante's, I'd go with my T5000 structure and divide by 5 to give a T1000 tournament. I've rounded some of the levels to keep them handier with chips.
Small Blind - Big Blind
5- 10
10- 20
20- 40
25- 50
40- 80
50- 100
75- 150
100- 200
150- 300
200- 400
300- 600
400- 800
600- 1200
800- 1600
1000- 2000
1500- 3000*
2000- 4000
3000- 6000
4000- 8000
6000- 12000
8000 - 16000
10000- 20000
If you need more levels just repeat from the * point but add an extra "0" at the end. 15-20min Levels should be used. With 150k in play the tournament should end when the big blind hits approximately 15k (a rough estimate). This occurs at the 8-16k level which with 20min blinds and no break occurs at 6.40hr mark, But thats cutting it a bit fine as you will be delayed with breaks etc. How imperitive is it that you finish in 7hr's? Can you go a little over? or must you be under?
If you must be under go with 15min levels. If you can go a small bit over then go with 20min levels.
For starting stack I think you really need 100 chips for the break down otherwise you need a rediculous stack of 25's.
Break down:
10reds (5's)
10blues (10's)
34green (25's) (crazy number of greens).
If you have hundreds then I'd suggest:
10reds (5's)
10blues (10's)
10greens (25's)
6blacks (100's)
I hope this helps
Cheers

50- 100 | I like like these blinds. However, I think there is a small glitch. The change interval (by big blind) goes 10-20-10-30-20.
I think the blinds should go:
5-10
10-20
20-40
30-60
40-80
50-100
Now the change interval (by big blind) goes 10-20-20-20-20. Now they're balanced out.
Hope I didn't confuse anyone here. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
