Strange,

Since I posted this information under the "Tournament structure" tread, I though it was pretty clear what I was asking. But if you need clarifiaction I'm asking about the blind structure.

No offence but horrible structure. You have tiny jump all the way along and then bang, 500-1000 goes to 1000-2000. And then you just keep doubling from there. That makes for bad play.

Here would be my suggestion for the tournament:
25-50
50-100
100-200
150-300 (remove 25's)
200-400
300-600
400-800
600-1200
800-1600
1000-2000
1500-3000(remove 100's and 500's)
2000-4000
3000-6000
4000-8000
6000-12000
8000-16000(remove 1000's)
10000-20000
15000-30000(remove 5000's)
20000-40000

Yes there are more levels but all the jumps are more balanced. This gives more play in the blind schedule.

Cheers
Ian

Re: T10,000 Advice Please

Here's a suggestion of a schedule we use with a $10,000 starting stack. It's a farily slow start, but then goes up faster after while.

You'd only need the highest levels for a very large tourney. With one table, the end is usually around level 12-13. With 2 tables, it's a little later, maybe 14-15. Depending on the number of players and how the time is going, we'll sometimes skips levels, like levels 6, 14, and/or 17.

Lvl...SB.......BB
1.....25.......50
2.....50.......100
3.....100......200
4.....150......300
5.....200......400
6.....300......600
7.....500......1000
8.....800......1600
9.....1000.....2000
10....1500.....3000
11....2000.....4000
12....3000.....6000
13....4000.....8000
14....5000.....10000
15....8000.....16000
16....10000....20000
17....12000....24000
18....15000....30000
19....20000....40000
20....30000....60000
21....40000....80000
22....50000....100000
23....80000....160000
24....100000...200000
25....150000...300000
26....200000...400000
27....250000...500000

Thanks. Fixed link in post #2. From there, you can check out the T10,000 structure used for the WSOP main event. Like others, I agree that I prefer a slower progression once the blinds get comparable to starting stack. However, if you want to double the blinds each level, I'd recommend making the blinds truly double every round (i.e. remove the 300-600 level, etc.), but make the levels MUCH longer (at least 30 minutes each). Otherwise, it'll be a total crap-shoot.

That's assuming this is for a live tournament. If you're playing online, 15 minute levels are plenty long enough, since shuffling/dealing and calculating stack/pot sizes takes no time at all.

Re: T10,000 Advice Please

Thanks for all the good advice. I'm going to increase the time of each level to 20 minutes and use the below listed blind schedule. With 10,000 starting stacks and one rebuy or add on for an additional 10,000 there could be a potential 400,000 chips in play.

Thanks again....

Re: T10,000 Advice Please

I like UsIreland's blinds.

If you want antes, I would use the following blinds.

BTW, you said you were useing 15 minute levels, that is too fast IMO. I would do at least 20 minutes, if not 30 minutes.
