Anyway, i'm thinking about buying 1000 nexgen chips from overstock.com and getting personal inlays (maybe the rounders design-i know it's overdone but i think it looks sharp)

anyway, i just started thinking about how many chips i need and what the denominations are.

I came up with:

red 300 500
green 240 1000
blue 100 2500
black 60 5000

starting stack

10 whites x100 1000
10 reds x500 5000
4 green x 1000 4000

Rebuy 4 Blue x 2500 10000

Add On 2 Black x5000 10000

with 40 min rounds

Thoughts? Can this work, usually will be about a 10 person game but can i stretch it for a 30 person game?

I'm thinking of making the add on 1/2 the amount of the buy in and rebuy (just get those great black chips in play

for example: 20 dollar buy in, 20 dollar rebuy, 10 dollar add on

I didnt read the whole post, but someone will. I got to the part where you want a $2500 chip. Dont do that. In my opinion. If you're gonna do a T10,000 tournament, why not go traditional?

$100--8
$500--4
$1000-2
$5000-1

Or if you wanted to have more $1000's in play, just get rid of the $5000 to start and have 6--$1000 and 6--$500's

Then just figure out have many people you are expecting and buy a little extra and you'll be set. As for blind structers, check out the WSOP blind schedules and just speed up the rounds. works for me.

(which is fine. Its your tourney)

If you do decide to go traditional, Heres a good blind structure:

25-50
50-100
100-200
100-200 25
200-400 50
300-600 50
400-800 75
600-1200 100
800-1600 200
1000-2000 300
1200-2400 400
1500-3000-500
2000-4000-500
2500-5000-500
3000-6000-1000
4000-8000-1000
5000-10000-1000

just raise the blinds every 15 minutes

Chips needed for 30 man tourney:

$25-----250
$100---250
$500---200
$1000--200
$5000--100 and use these for the rebuys and add-ons

Total: 1000

Thanks for the reply. I am definitly thinking about using your chips values (with the 25 instead of the 2500)

but with the set i'm getting i can't use this:

I am hesitant to make 300 25 dollar chips and i prefer longer level's.

How about using the green 240 as $25's (traditional color anyway) 300-$100's
$300-$500's, 100-$1000's, and 60-$5000?

I couldn't get even stacks with green being 25 so i made them 50
