T10000 10 player structure

Hi folks

Right now I'm using the following structure:

Blinds
1 (20min) 25/50
2 (20min) 50/100
3 (20min) 75/150
BREAK COLOR UP $25 CHIPS
4 (15min) 100/200
5 (15min) 200/400
6 (15min) 300/600
7 (15min) 400/800
8 (15min) 600/1200
9 (15min) 800/1600
BREAK COLOR UP $100 CHIPS
10 (15min) 1000/2000
11 (15min) 1500/3000
12 (15min) 2000/4000
13 (15min) 3000/6000
14 (15min) 4000/8000
15 (15min) 5000/10000

Chipstack:
8 x 25
13 x 100
13 x 500
2 x 1000

I think of expanding the level 4 - 6 to 20 minutes, do you have any other comments or improvements? e.g. higher chip stacks (more $100 chips?)

Thanks in advance!

Re: T10000 10 player structure

The step from 100/200 to 200/400 is very steep (100%). Some of your later steps are very small, e.g. 800/1600 to 1000/2000 (25%).

I would insert a 150/300 level between 4 and 5 and make some other minor adjustments to make the steps of more equal size.

1. 25/50
2. 50/100
3. 75/150
4. 100/200
5. 150/300 colour up 25s
6. 200/400
7. 300/600
8. 500/1000
9. 700/1400 colour up 100s
10. 1000/2000
11. 1500/3000 colour up 500s
12. 2000/4000
13. 3000/6000
14. 5000/10000

First 5 levels could be 20 min.

I'd use more 25s and less 500s, such as:

12 x 25
12 x 100
9 x 500
4 x 1000

TT

8 - 100s
8 - 500s
5 - 1000s

Re: T10000 10 player structure

How long do your games last with these stuctures? I will be switching to T10,000 for my next game and am trying to get the structure set. Most likely it will be 10-12 players with 1 rebuy/addon and I would like it to last 4-5 hours.

I respectfully disagree, TT. After many games with starting stacks like that, we've finally setlled on fewer small chips and more middle chips. Unless you have a real limper's game (or are playing limit, of course). Or unless you have antes.

Too many small chips is just a pain once you get betting, and you have to buy too many of them that get wasted (colored up and put aside) for 75% of the night.

I think 8/13/13/2 is excellent if you want a big stack, with 8/8/8/5 also pretty good.

Re: T10000 10 player structure

You are really getting into personal preference here. My personal choice for up to 3 tables is:

12 - 25
12 - 100
7- 500
5- 1000

I use antes in later rounds and don't mind the color-ups. If you need to save some bucks though, you can certainly do it with fewer 25s and 100s per person. I did this for my set used for a 100 man tourney that we do 2x a year. Starting stacks for that one is 8,8,8,5. Still bought 4000 chips for that set. Would have been about 800 more the other way.

Re: T10000 10 player structure

A starting chip stack of 8/8/8/5 should work well. Players will have to make change from each other occasionally, but I don't find it bothersome. My group doesn't like a lot of low denomination chips. I once started with 12 chips of 25, but people complained that there were too many chips of that denomination. I've also played in a T3000 tourney that started us with just 4 chips of 25, but that was ridiculous, IMHO, because people were making change right from the start. Also, the starting stack at the 2006 WSOP was 8/8/8/5.

My game uses this structuer. (Only with 5000 chips) 25 min rounds. Last night it went to round 9. A little over 4 hours. One table with 11 players.
No re-buys. As players were knocked out they started a cash game.
