Hosting my first tournament

We usually play with 5-8 players during Friday nights nothing big. But Tonight is my nephew's birthday and the family is all about poker, so I decided a while ago to do it big. Here are some things that I did to get it going.

In the top picture I have everything from table numbers to stacks of cash (took so long to make) to the bracelet, 2 tables, wsop cushions, wsop cards, poker chip shower curtains to fill the walls, and a set of paulson classics mixed with in play 5k chips
The picture below I have the genie and a soundock to crank out Sinatra all night and some death metal mixed in with some N.W.A and public enemy.... and I'm going to release the newly re done wsop felt on the poker table, it's from last years main event got it off ebay (the logo is embroidered).... no one knows it but me, I hope it gets good reviews. on the ipod I have wsop sound clips like, "this is the degree all in moment" the opening theme to wsop, great double up from norman chad and other poker sayings....I hope everything goes accordingly....I used what I learned from this great site. The blind structure is good for 5k starting stack for 16 people, house rules and all. I wouldn't be able to build such a great tournament without the aid of the blogs in this site....wish me luck.

Re: Hosting my first tournament

How did you make the stacks of money? Photocopies, then cut them all out and band them? Or are there real bills in there? Great idea. Just wondering how you chose to do it, so that I can copy you .

Imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?

Thanks, and good luck,

Dave

Re: Hosting my first tournament

Hey Bilcoh, The stacks of cash have blanks in them, I just photocopied a hundred dollar bill front and back and through many nights chucked them out. The paper is newsprint paper really cheap stuff. Took me about 2 months to make 40 bundles of cash.I guess it could have been sooner but I got lazy.

Thanks everyone for the luck, the table got many approvals, lots of poker. Nothing happened for me just bad beats....I swear the WSOP are alive because they deliver true poker justice...it never happens with the kems, modianos or NTP's only with the copag wsops.

As far as the table goes It's truely awesome....just a little worried about the stitching coming off like this one eventually

I belive that is a legit WSOP bracelet and chips from 2005. That pic is not the OP's, it is taken from the WSOP itself... He is just hoping his table doesn't unravel like the one pictured.
