I am still trying to work out what Protege chips to buy.
I have a set of Pharaohs I use for T1,500
I also have some Bellagios on the way for T50,000
I want something different and I want to make the best use of the punched inlays so want to focus on the tail end of the set. The $100 chip is my favourite (even though I wasn't a fan of it to start - sorry for ever having doubted you Boon). I also love the $1000 chip.
We have 10 players usually but I would like to be able to cope with 12. I only want the tourney to last 2.5 hours, 3 at the most.
I was thinking of buying the following:
200 x $100
150 x $500
100 x $1000
50 x $5000 (for rebuys)
and using the following blinds schedule but don't know where ante should kick in if my lowest denom chip is $100
I've run a 10 person T10000 with starting stacks of that consistently ended at 2.5 hrs with the following distribution and blinds (20 minute levels suggested antes in parenthesis, although I don't us them):
As for antes, I like a guideline of something like antes averaging 1/6 to 1/7 the big blind. Obviously this will be off sometimes as you color up smaller chips, meaning it may be 1/5 sometimes and 1/10 others. WSOP starts with T10,000, look up their ante/blind schedule to get an idea.
