My T5000 schedule

So I have a game at my apartment where we have at most 10 players (I can only fit that many in here)... sometimes we have it at one of the other guys' places when we can and can have up to 20 or so people. I'm going to start asking if we can use my schedule everytime because they a really bad T100 setup where after the blinds go up too fast after the 10/20 level.

Starting stacks:
8x25
8x100
4x500
2x1000
(WSOP style, just without the 5K chips)

The first two levels are 30 minutes, during which you can rebuy for half the buyin (usually it's $10) and receive 2500 in chips (only if you bust out). This helps to keep it a friendly game without allowing maniacs to come back too easily. After this everyone is allowed to purchase one add-on for half the buy-in (also worth 2500 in chips). After this every level is 20 minutes. I think as far as my blinds go is good enough for the 20 player tournaments (100K total chips in play) and is also a good place to freeze the 10 player tourneys (although they usually end around the 200/400 level). Any suggestions from you guys on how to improve this? I thought maybe I should add a 250/500 but I don't know if that's necessary.

SB/BB/Ante

25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
200/400
300/600
400/800/100
500/1000/200
600/1200/200
800/1600/300
1000/2000/300
1200/2400/400
1500/3000/500
2000/4000/500

Re: My T5000 schedule

You could probably drop the 150/300 level as that would allow you to colour up the 25s and reduce the clutter on the table. I would also hold off on the ante until the 500/1000 level too.

Re: My T5000 schedule

Looks very similar to my T5000 setup. Couple exceptions, I skip the 500/1000 level and the 1200/2400 level. I also don't have antes. I used to try and get them in there, but most times they were just more trouble then they were worth.

That's an interesting way to handle rebuys/add-ons. All of my levels are 20 min and I allow a full rebuy of 5000 for the full buy-in anytime you fall to 2,000 or below. No add-ons though.

Re: My T5000 schedule

With up to 10 players at $5K, we also skip antes. When we have rebuys, they're only when you bust out (no top-ups or add-ons). But I really like the half rebuys, that's a great idea.

Our blinds sorta compensate for not having antes. After the first 4 levels we go up pretty steeply. We use:
$25 $50
$50 $100
$75 $150
$100 $200
$200 $400
$300 $600
$500 $1,000
$1,000 $2,000
$1,500 $3,000
$2,000 $4,000
$3,000 $6,000

We use a little different starting stack of 8/13/3/2 for $5K.

Re: My T5000 schedule

This looks like a really good tournament setup. I'm going to try it some time in the near future minus the 150/300 round so we can color up after the first break (after the 75/150 round). Thanks for posting

Re: My T5000 schedule

I used this setup last night for an 8 player tournament and it went really well. 20 min rounds early, then 15 mins later. The ante helped keep more players in the game instead of the chip leader just sitting out until he had premiums.
The game ended up being about 3 hours long.
