It allows for any type of blind structure, with or without antes or both, and up to 5000 people. It will automatically determine payouts either by percentage of winners or number of winners. It has an option for rebuys and add ons. It also allows you to choose the time for each blind raise.
It is really inexpensive too. Check this auction (not mine): http://cgi.ebay.com/Tournament-Poker...QQcmdZViewItem
or http://cgi.ebay.com/DD-Tournament-Po...QQcmdZViewItem
There is a new version of it with phil gordon on the front but I can not speak for it.

The Home Game Organizer is a free program for anyone who wants to arrange a smooth running poker tournament. You won't have to borrow your mum's egg clock anymore, or rely on your colleague's waterproof chronometer - which will disappear when its owner is eliminated in the second level. Home Game Organizer runs on any PC. Just download it and enjoy.
It comes with a manual too: http://www.pokerroom.com/main/page/p...rganizerManual

I have since set up a couple of templates and let a Tourney run while I am sitting at work. I am running a tournament next week and look forward to showing the guys the software!

THIS PROGRAM IS BETTER THAN ANY I THINK YOU CAN BUY...unless you have someone that is acting as a dedicated tourney director to enter names and keep a toll of players chips...this software does everything you would want it to...I use it at our monthly tourney...16 people with rebuys..works like a charm..has audio cues for blind changes...you can program breaks and antes and change the %'s for payouts...aside from the functionality...people are very impressed by the 'high tech' look of your set up if you have multiple flat panel or one large plasma/lcd to show the program....I hope you try this program..you will like it! |

The free version is great, but if you really want to take advantage of the features you need to purchase the full version.

Chuck | I saw this one talked about a lot in other threads. I took a look at it and downloaded the free version. I did like the program, but I just do not like having to pay $10 a quarter for software. I feel like i am leasing it. Would not mind paying a set price and then be done with it, but to have to keep paying for it does not seem quite right.

Things have been quiet for the last few months becasue he is working on V3. If you are running a league it is the best. For me $10 per quarter is worth it.
I have used Tournement Director but did not like it so I switched to Tournament Manager.

Technically, you could be "leasing" software even if you have one payment only. Check the license agreement on MS software and others- often you will find that the producing company actually OWNS the software, you just bought the rights to use it.
That said, I wouldn't pay a monthly/quarterly charge either. |

I've downloaded the TD demo and was ready to buy it when I saw Blake's post. TD has lots of functions, but I'm very satisfied with the PokerRoom program for what we need. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
