Chips: 554 | | | Suggestions on Tourny using my set. I'm having a 11 player tourney Saturday with one rebuy. My chip set has 400 reds, 240 green, 160 black, 80 purple, and 20 Orange.....They are denom Pharaohs.
I would like the tourny to last around 2.5 to 3 hours. I have a poker genie, but the genie doesn't factor in rebuys.
Any suggestions would be great!!
Thanks in Advance,

So in your case, 5 or 6. It really depends on your players, the blinds (especially toward the end of the rebuy period), and how long you make the rebuy period. Just as a comparison, I allow unlimited rebuys for the first hour of my games. Start with 5,000 and the blinds for the last rebuy level are 75-150. The "half the field" theory has held pretty true over several dozen games. |

8 x $25
8 x $100
3 x $500
1 x $1000
Total 20 chips for T$3,500
Not a very large chipstack, but OK. Blinds should be 25/25 to start, which is 140xBB. #2 (skip your $1000s)
10 x $5
14 x $25
6 x $100
2 x $500
Total 32 chips for T$2,000
Nice big chipstacks, with lots of chips left on the table even after you color up your reds (and greens if you want). Blinds $5/10 are 200xBB.
Given your chipset, I'd probably go with #2.
In either case, you'd probably want to increase your blinds relatively quickly to get everything done in under 3 hours. |

For a T5000 tourney, you will color up the reds almost immediately or not use them at all. I would give each player say 15 red (T75), 13 green (T325), 11 black (T1100), and 1-2 purple. Give them 2 orange chips for a rebuy (add a purple if the tourney is T2500).
Use the poker stars blind/ante schedule, starting with 10/20. Adjust the length of each level so you reach a total SB + BB + antes of about 3500 (10% of the chips in play) at your desired ending time.

Chips: 554 | | | Re: Suggestions on Tourny using my set. I think T2000 is the way to go....just in case I end up having 16 people and have to run two tables with rebuys. This also allows for when I do have 20 people tourneys after this thing grows.
I like the starting stacks....but where can I get the blind schedule ??
I am at work right now and do not have my poker genie with me. I do not know what blinds come up when you input the T2000 chips and 11 players.
I would like to use the Genie.
Any suggestions??
Thanks,

Chips: 18,645 | | | Re: Suggestions on Tourny using my set. I don't know what Genie would say, but you could use this:
$5-$10
$10-$20
($15-$30)
$25-$50
$50-$100
$75-$150
$100-$200
($200-$400)
$300-$600
($400-$800)
$500-$1,000
$1,000-$2,000
$1,500-$3,000
$2,000-$4,000
and up if you need more
Depending on how long you want to go, you could skip some levels like 15-30, 200-400 and 400-800. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
