Well I've collected a small bundle of NJ Skulls, quite an awkward amount. I'd like to host a 16-20 man tourney but I don't know what type of structure to run.

Here are my chip breakdowns (kinda funny):

200 1's
250 5's
175 25's
150 100's
125 500's

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, first skip all your $1s for a tourney, they'll be useless. Save em for cash.

With your chip counts, I would start with:
10 x $5
8 x $25
6 x $100
6 x $500
for 30 chips total, which is a decent size stack. Kind of an odd starting $$ amount, but that really doesn't matter.

Color up your $5s with some $25s and $100s, then play the latter part of the tourney with the 3 higher denoms.

You could start blinds at $10/20 instead of $5/10 because your starting amount is so high, or just start at $5/10 and raise the blinds more quickly.

This'll use most of your chips for 20 players (except for the $1s).

I think the best thing is to have a starting amount that makes the lowest chip the starting SB. That makes the use of the small chips most efficient.

If want to start with 200 x SB, you could use:

15 x $5 (240 chips)
9 x $25 (144 chips - you will have to use some $100s to colour up your 5s if you are 15 or 16 players)
7 x $100 (112 chips)
That makes 31 chips totalling $1000. If you want a higher starting amount, add a $500. If you want less, leave out some $100s.

If you use rebuys, use the $500s for that.

Blinds start at 5/10.
