Blind Structure Guidance

Hello -
I live in CO (low stakes law of the land....)
The Mountian Casinos have "crap shoot" NL tourneys.
I just talked to a poker room manager at one of the casinos that will consider having a meaningful tourney.
100 player cap
$100 plus ? (probably $15) Buy-In
Start at noon
5,000 in chips to start
Needs to be over between 9-10 p.m.
(couple 15 min breaks/color ups plus a 30? min. dinner break)
What is a proper blind structure?
If successfull, they may do it again.
Thanks in advance -

Re: Blind Structure Guidance

Take a look at post #2 in this thread: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/poker-...ighlight=t5000

I have had lots of luck with this, but you may need to make the rounds a little longer if you want it to last 9-10 hours.

If nothing else, it may give you a place to start.

Re: Blind Structure Guidance

Thank you but this would not have rebuys, more players, and the 9-10 cutoff ....
I'm hoping there is a member with a program that can type in these particulars and mathmatically compute what should work.
But thanks a bunch!

When the BB is 1/10 - 1/20 of the chips in play it should pretty much end.
So if you have 100 players, it will roughly end when the BB is 5-10 times the starting stack.

that being said, make the blind schedule however you like with a goal to hit that size BB after ~8-9 hrs.

My two cents:

T5000
40 min rounds,1st 6 levels.
30 min rounds next 6 levels
15 min rounds thereafter

25-50
50-100
75-150
<<15 min break, colour up 25s>> 2:15 thus far
100-200
200-300
400-800
<<15 min break, colour up 100s>> 4:30 thus far, 30 min rounds now.
500-1000
1000-2000
1500-3000
2000-4000
3000-6000
4000-8000
<30 min break, colour up 500s>> 8 hrs thus far, 15 min rounds now
5K-10K
10K-20K
15K-30K
20K-40K <--- 9 hr mark.
25K-50K
30K-60K

Or 30 min rounds straight through. 9hr mark at 30K-60K level.

Re: Blind Structure Guidance

I would use antes and have 30 or 40 minute rounds the whole way

25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
100/200/25
150/300/50
200/400/75
Remove 25 chips
300/600/100
400/800/100
600/1,200/200
800/1,600/300
1,000/2,000/400
Remove 100 chips
1,500/3,000/500
2,000/4,000/500
2,500/5,000/500
Remove 500 chips
3,000/6,000/1,000
4,000/8,000/1,000
5,000/10,000/2,000
6,000/12,000/2,000
8,000/16,000/3,000
10,000/20,000/4,000

This includes more levels than needed. Playing with antes should help keep things less drawn out.
