In my poker tourneys I've never done any rebuys. How do you guys work them, do you let them rebuy the starting stack or something less? I'm also buying a new set of chips, so how many extra/rebuy chips should I get, or how many rebuys should I expect in a tourney with 8 up to 16 players?
I guess I have the same questions for add-ons also.
In my current setup, I have a T5,000 game. I allow rebuys for the first hour for anyone that falls to 2,000 or less. The rebuy gets you a full 5,000 chips.
I typically figure on rebuys for half of the field. It seems to have worked out to be about average for me. So 16 I entries, I figure on 8 rebuys. I don't do add-ons very often, but in my experience, everyone will do the add-on except maybe one or two people.
We run a T200 game. Blinds up every 15 min.
1-2, 2-4, 3-6, 4-8 (color up 1s), 5-10
10-20, 15-30, 20-40 (color up 5s), 25-50
50-100 - usually ended by then
We allow one re-buy per player through the end of 5-10 - only with no chips in front of you.
I ended 5-10 one time with 2 chips - couldn't re-buy - but that's how it goes.
We don't do add on's.

I run a T1000 tourney and offer 1 rebuy (same price as the buy-in) for another T1000 in chips. This rebuy can only be used when you have no chips.
This rebuy is allowed during the first hour (first 4 blind levels). If you haven't used your rebuy at the end of the hour, you are allowed to use it as an add-on at that time.
I run a T1000 and allow one rebuy per player, but no add-ons. Players must bust out in order to rebuy, and rebuys are allowed until the end of the second hour of play. So far everyone has been pretty happy with this setup. -mw
If you ran out of chips in the first hour you could rebuy T10,000 for $25. At the end of the first hour we took a break and had an option for an addon of T5000 for $10 (I chose $10 over $12.50 so I wouldn't have to make change).
