Chips: 74 | | | T2000 Tourny EDIT i realize i should have put this post into the " Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information" tread. sorry guys.
Wassup guys, I would advices to improve or rather refine my tourny..
each saturday, i host a tourny of about 15-20 ppl.
buying is $10
for instance if it was a 19 people tourny payout would be
1st - 120
2nd - 50
3rd - 20
everyone would get $2000 worth of chips
8 x $25 = $200
6 x $50 = $300
5 x $100 = $500
2 x $500 = $1,000
___________________
total + $2,000
reason for the $50 is i am using a bunch of old sets of dice chips (until i am ready to buy the nexgens)
blinds would start off as the following with 20 minute intervals
0025 | 50
0050 | 100
0100 | 200
0150 | 300
0200 | 400
0300 | 600
0400 | 800
0500 | 1000
1000 | 2000
and it usually ends after that... the games last about 5 hours, and i kinda wanna cut it down just a bit.. is there something that i am doing wrong?
Also, when do i break down the tables? suppose i have 3 tables of 6-7 each.
my last question is, Like I said, i am planning on purchasing nexgens.. and decided on $25s $100s $500s $1,000s and maybe $5,000s. any suggestion on how i should break up the amounts? i am probably going to get the 1000 set under a 500 set would do just fine for the tournys i have.
thanks for the future input guys! |

Chips: 1,929 | | | Re: T2000 Tourny I would get rid of the 50 chips if possible, no need for 25s and 50s and 100s. I would use this setup.
12-25, 7-100, 2-500 = 21 chips worth 2,000
25/50 (or a 25/25 first)
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
200/400
300/600
400/800
600/1200
1000/2000
That is 10 levels x 20 minutes = 3 hours 20 minutes + breaks should finish well under four hours |

Chips: 8 | | | Re: T2000 Tourny If you hold tourneys with close to 20 people I would recomed 1000 chips
This chip breakdown you can run Tournament ranging from T500 - T10 000 with ease for around 25 Players
Red 100
Green 300
Black 400
Purple 150
Yellow 50
T 2000 (Up to 25 Players)
T25 Green x 12
T100 Black x 12
T500 Purple x 1
T1 000 Yellow
T5 000 Red
If can only afford a 500 chipset
200 Green T25
200 Black T100
50 Purple T500
50 Yellow T1 000 |

Chips: 74 | | | Re: T2000 Tourny thanks for all the replies.. i def dunt want to deal with $5s anymore... it is strictly $25 and up. the nexgen set will most likely be 1,000 chips.
so maybe
Green 300
Black 400
Purple 200
Yellow 75
Blue 25 (10,000) I know blue is not the offical color for 10,000, but it is my set
so how would i know what kinda tourny i should set up? depending on the amount of people? i remember seeing a link somewhere on here, but i cant find it again. |

Chips: 1,929 | | | Re: T2000 Tourny Homepokertourney has a bunch of good structures. You could run T1000s, but that might be a bit too small. I prefer a bigger stack tournament, usually a T10,000 with 50-100 starting blinds, or T5,000 with 25-50. I would suggest against getting a 5th denom, and just stick with 4 colors. This would be a good start for 20 people:
12 green T25 = 300
12 black T100 = 1200
7 purple T500 = 3500
5 yellow T1000 = 5000
36 chips 10,000 total
Then you would need 240 greens, 300 blacks, 200 purples, and 200 yellows
For 1000 chips get 300, 300, 200, 200, and you will be able to properly color up. |

Chips: 8 | | | Re: T2000 Tourny 1000 Chips Cool
300 Green T25
400 Black T100
200 Purple T500
75 Yellow T1000
25 Blue T10 000 (make it a T5000)
I hate Blue it is your set but make it whatever colour you like
T2 000
18 Players or under
16 Green T25
16 Black T100
19-25 Players
12 Green T25
12 Black T100
1 Purple T500
26-36 Players
8 Green T25
8 Black T100
2 Purple T500
Add Purples and Yellows for any T2000- T5000
Easy

Chips: 18,394 | | | Re: T2000 Tourny A few comments:
Stick with 4 denominations. If you want to buy a fifth denom just to have have some variety, that's OK, but you don't need them.
Don't use too many of the lowest denom. Lots of people realize this after a while -- if you have too many smalls (your $25s) in your starting stack then you waste your money on buying a lot of them, and end up with lots of useless chips once you color up the smalls. Use your smalls for blinds (starting at 25/50) and maybe limper bets, but your medium denoms get most of the action.
Let folks start with a nice playable stack -- maybe 25-30 chips. With only 20 players, the final few folks will have big stacks at the end, even after you race off the $25s and $100s.
You can easily have a 20-person tourney with 650 chips. We run a regular tourney with a nice T$5,000 starting stack:
8 x $25
13 x $100
3 x $500
2 x $1000
Total 27 chips, starting stack T$5,000
You can buy 650 chips like these and never run out.
160 x $25
300 x $100
110 x $500
80 x $1000
Total 650 chips
OR . . . you can have a really rich and really fun starting stack of T$10,000 and still only buy 800 chips:
8 x $25
13 x $100
7 x $500
5 x $1000
Total 33 chips, starting stack T$10,000
Minimum 800 chips (but I'd probably add more $1000s and buy 850):
160 x $25
300 x $100
200 x $500
140 x $1000
Total 800 chips |

Chips: 74 | | | Tourny and Cash Set Up with 1000 chips After research my weekly games and askin the players, i have come up with a conclusion... althought everyone likes the T2000, they feel that it is not enough chips...
my previous system was
8 x 25
6 x 50
5 x 100
2 x 500
____________
total = $2000
I am going to be ordering a new set of nexgens soon. 1000 chips..i would like to use about 75% of it for the tourny.. and the rest for the cash game when the players bust out.
this is what i have come up with. its a T5500.
is this an ok set up? i was thinkin of the following blind structure.
25/50 30 minute (Just so everyone can get comfortable)
50/100 20 minute (50 minutes)
75/150 20 minute (1 hours and 10 minutes)
100/200 20 minute (1 hours and 30 minutes) 150/200 20 minute (1 hours and 50 minutes)
300/600 20 minute (2 hours and 10 minutes)
400/800 20 minute (2 hours and 30 minutes)
500/1000 20 minute (2 hours and 50 minutes)
600/1200 20 minute (3 hours and 10 minutes) 100 ante
700/1400 20 minute (3 hours and 30 minutes) 200 ante
800 /1600 20 minute (3 hours and 50 minutes) 300 ante There will also be a 10 minute break somewhere in between so that leaves the game to just about four hours.
I am sure that by then the game will end, atleast i hope so. the normal amount of players are about 15-20... i did 25 just incase we get more people.. what do u guys think of this .
as u can see, it leaves me with 325 chips for a cash set.
now my question is, is this ok? and what colors and set up i should use? i am truly out of ideas.. i did come up with this for shits and giggles.
and i just assume that blinds will be .05/.10 or .10/.25
any suggestions is welcome!

thanks for the future input guys! | I have a T2000 event once a month with 35-40 people.
I start out at: 5/10 with 30 min blinds
10/25
25/50
50/100
100/200
200/400
400/800
800/1600
1600/3200
It usually ends in about 4 1/2 hours. I think your structure needs to be tweaked a little if at all. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
