Chips: 6,831 | | | Feedback on my Deep Stack Structure I'm in the process of setting up a Deep Stack tourny next month. T10,000 with 45 minute levels to play like WSOP / WPT.
Here is what I have sofar for structure: http://members.cox.net/socalpoker/Tourney.html
Hopping to have up to about 30 people and starting around noon on a Saturday. How does this look? |

Chips: 807 | | | Re: Feedback on my Deep Stack Structure With 30 people, the tournament could last until Level 17. Quite a long tournament. Sounds like fun. I was I had players in my area that would be up for such a game. |

Chips: 7,798 | | | Re: Feedback on my Deep Stack Structure Looks pretty good. I think some of your jumps could be improved. Antes also seem a bit all over the place, ranging from 1/4 SB to 1/10 SB. But they are nice and small. I'd dump the 250/500 and 500/1000 in favor of 300/600; 400/800; 600/1200; 800/1600.
Similarly, the jumps in levels 15+ could be rounded out better. It does depend on how long you want this to last though.
I had a deepstack tournament last July that went quite well. The summary is posted here: http://chiptalk.net/forum/poker-stor...ht=spacemonkey
Unfortunately, the link to my initial thread with the blind schedule isn't working, so I'll have to dig it out of TD.
*EDIT* Found the original thread with blind schedule: http://chiptalk.net/forum/tournament...ght=tournament |

Get the $25's off the table rather quickly.
Kill round 4. (what's the point in the same blind with an ante?)
Kill round 6 and simply go from 2/4 to 3/600 respectively.
Wait until round 9 to start the ante at 100 (or start your ante when the BB is at 1,000)
Kill round 8 which uses a $25 chip as part of the blind.
I'm not a fan of having smaller chips on the table at later rounds of the tourney. Seems to slow the game down, but if you are not worried about time, it look great.
Just my thoughts. YMMV. |

I also like to have a level or two where the small is a larger percentage of the big than 50%. It make the decision to play or not more complex for the small blind, giving people a chance to make a mistake. I want the tournament to put a premium on skill vs luck. Still plenty of luck involved but the goal is to reward skill more.

I want to get the feel for a WPT / WSOP type of tournament. I'm looking for it to last 10 - 12 hours |

Just my thoughts. YMMV. | I hear what you are saying and will need to weigh it against my other goals of requiring people to think and adjust more. Oceans 11 has tournaments where the antes go up so fast that they make everone short stacked early and things become a crap shoot. That is something I'm working to avoid.
Good sugestions from everyone.
