Most people are not into Razz, Stud8 or Omaha8, so you are probably better off doing something like me or Spiff did by tailor making your mix game tourney to fit your needs. | Absolutely, this is great advice. Don't feel like you have to play HORSE just because that's what you've seen and other places do it. Like I said, we played hold 'em, Omaha hi, Pineapple, and Stud Hi for HOPS. I put pineapple in there because we had played a full tournament of that before and the guys liked it. We kept it to Stud Hi because for whatever reason, my guys didn't like Stud 8 when we played it. I love Stud 8, but you have to cater to the crowd at some point or you don't have a game! I can't even imagine what would happen if I tried to introduce Razz to them. Do what works for you and make sure it's fun. |

ESPN has determined that the people watching are too stupid to figure out how anything other than no limit holdem is played, so they decide to bastardize the event. So, there will be another no limit holdem event on tv. . . great. |

Chips: 76 | | | Re: HORSE tourney: suggestions? A really fun NL tourney that we play that is similar to horse is HOK.
NL holdem, PL Omaha, NL Kansas City Lowball.
We have a special blind structure where at Level 1 holdem is 50/100, PL Omaha is 25/50, and KC Lowball is 100/200 + 25 ante.
The blinds go up in that fashion. it makes a lot of sense when you start playing it as each of the games play "similar" at those blinds. Antes are added at the later levels of holdem, but Omaha is always straight blinds.
We start with T5000 in chips. |

We used the WSOP blind schedule, except we made the blinds 15 min. After 4 1/2 hours of play, we had pretty much just passed chips around the table and everyone had more or less the same amount. So we tripled the blinds and had a hold'em all-in fest so we could go to bed!
It was fun, but all those split pots and limit games make for low variance! |

I will look for the link in a bit.
and here is a modified shoe tourament i used a few times, my buddy's like omaha 8/b rather then stud 8/b so we play Stud Holdem Omaha and omaha 8/b. Worked out pretty good. some of the blinds are a little goofy but makes it easier for the stakes. and if you need more levels bring in for stud normally was 3x ante. I did see you played one already but thought i would post this anyway incase yoru interested. PM me and i will send you the file i can't get it to work on the forum. and if you want a faster strucure for a horse tourament download the Fulltilt poker software and click on one of there horse sng or touraments and then tourament info and there is there strucure. I tried to copy and paste that too but it didn't work or i am to computer dumb to make it work

What do you think the odds are of getting 2 hours of HORSE televised? The players have almost no bargaining power, so they have to concede pretty much whatever ESPN wants. ESPN apparently thinks that HORSE is too complicated.
Thanks, but I already have some structures to use. |

Chips: 23 | | | Re: HORSE tourney: suggestions? Ya and holdem is huge and with a buy in of that size it will no doubt create a lot of "big" names at the final table and be great for TV witht eh holdem final table. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
