Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

As per Seymour's fine idea, we'll use this thread to collect information about what starting stack/ blind schedule, and breakdown our members use.

what you do:
post your starting stack
post your blind schedule
post your breakdown
how many players usually participate?
how long do these tournaments usually last?
include any rational or commentary that you think is necessary

what i'll do:
when this thread dies down, I'll make a new sticky. it'll prune out posts that don't do the above. it'll be closed, so the ONLY posts in the sticky will be different ideas for how to run games.

note: if it looks necessary, the sticky will have two parts; one for tournies and one for cash games.

note #2: if someone has the gumption and the inclination, maybe this putting this information in an interesting package could make for a good article. i guess we'll see about that.

Re: Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

jojo's tournaments:

starting stack:
20 X 5
20 X 25
4 X 100
1000 total

my breakdown:
200 X 5
250 X 25
200 X 100
50 X 500
25 X 1000

blinds (15 minute rounds)
10-20
15-30
20-40
3 minute break to color up reds
25-50
50-100
75-150
100-200
150-300
3 minute break to color up the greens
200-400
300-600
400-800

these tournaments are single table events, but i dream of one day doing multitables. i can adjust stacks and use t500 chips to accomodate two tables easily. These usually last about 2 hours.

cash game breakdown:
100 X .50
350 X 1
200 X 5

but i've yet to have a cash game

$5000 total

Starting Stacks for 11-16 players
12 x $25

We play a weekly freeze-out tournament with 8-12 players on average and individual games normally always last three to four hours. We do a $5.00 buy-in and during the first 4 rounds we will allow up to 1/3 of the playing field to re-buy if they bust out (for example 10 players = 3 re-buys).

Rounds = 20 minutes

Re: Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

T7500 2-4 hours 6-10 people

Starting stacks:
20-$5's
20-$25's
19-$100's
6-$500's
2-$1000's

We have the 5's because we have an ante right out of the gate. We find that it helps keep everyone paying attention if they have to do something everyhand. You can easily do this without the antes by dropping the 5's and adding another 100. You could also dump the 1000's for 4 more 500's if you wanted to use 3 denoms instead of 4.

Blinds
25 minutes, except where noted
sm-bg-ante
25-50-5
50-100-10
100-200-20
200-400-40 (12.5 minutes)
250-500-50 (12.5 minutes)
500-1000-100
1000-2000-200
2000-4000-400
4000-8000-500 (capped ante)
8000-16000

This game usually ends at about 3 hours.

Re: Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

T3000 tournaments

Starting Stacks - Chip count depends on whose chipset we are using
20 or 16 - $25
10 or 11 - $100
3 - $500

Blinds
25/25 - 45 minutes (Nice relaxed start)
25/50 - 20 minutes
50/100
75/150
100/200 Blinds drop to 15 minutes
150/300 Color up $25's
200/400
300/600
400/800 Blinds drop to 10 minutes
500/1000
600/1200
etc...

We play 1-2 table events with a regular crowd of 10-15.
Time of play is 3-4 hours. We decrease blind times because we play on a weeknight and like to finish up by midnight.

BullMoose Poker Tournaments

12 people usually play...
$25 Buyin(10,000 in chips) ($20 goes to nightly pot, $5 into season pot)
$10 ($4000chips)/$15($6000chips) Rebuy for first 4 blind periods. $2.50 of each rebuy goes into season pot. Season is 10 events long. Season pot stands at $451 with 1st place getting 60% and 2nd place getting 40% after 7 events

Tournaments take about 4-5 hours depending on the players moods, sometimes we get goofy people that go all in on the first hand, and sometimes the tourney gets real tight.

Starting stack
$50 = 20 Changed our $25 into $50 because no one could grasp the concept of putting in 2 chips
$100 = 20
$500 = 6
$1000 = 4

Blinds (30 min blinds)
50/100
100/200
150/300
200/400
Break (20 min blinds)
250/500
400/800
500/1000
1000/2000
1500/3000
Break
2000/4000
3000/6000-never got past this point
4000/8000

Re: Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

T20000 NLHE Tourney

25 $100
15 $500
10 $1000

blinds every 20 minutes

1. 100/200
2. 200/400
3. 300/600
color up $100 with $500s and $1000s
4. 500/1000
5. 1000/2000
6. 1500/3000
color up $500 with $1000s and $5000s (plaques...this set is a pharaohs set)
7. 2000/4000
8. 3000/6000
9. 5000/10000
10. 8000/16000
11. 12000/24000

my set consists of:

250 $100s
175 $500s
125 $1000s
20 $5000 plaques

my games typically last 2:30 to 3 hrs...beginning with round 7, usually we have 2-3 people left...and only $1000s and $5000 plaques are in play...never had a game exceed the 8000/16000 level...

Cash game set:
we play low limit (1/2)

400 NCV blues (used as 50cents each to play 1-2)
100 $5 for rebuys

each of the first 10 players start with minimu 40 NCV ($20)...any excess bought using $5 chips...so only 2 denoms on the table...

Re: BullMoose Poker Tournaments

starting stack
$2500
$5 - 15 Chips
$25 - 11 Chips
$50 - 11 Chips (yes I use a $50 chip, leave me be)
$100 - 6 Chips
$500 - 2 Chips

post your blind schedule
5/10
10/20
20/40
25/50
50/100
150/300
200/400
300/600 (Tornament usually ends around here)

how many players usually participate?
This is set up for 6 players, can handle up to 9

how long do these tournaments usually last?
3 Hours tops

include any rational or commentary that you think is necessary
Once the blinds reach the 25/50 stage I usually color out the $5 into either $25 or $50 chips. Straight 5 $5 for one $25. Not a race.
My game is very friendly so we start with the low blinds, but after an couple hours of play we want it down quickly so the blinds go up more steeply.
