Re: Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

I think the goal was something like that, only the author was supposed to "weed out" similarities or duplicates. At least I think that was how it was going to go. I haven't heard who was going to take on the project though.

On a side note: JoJo if no one has approached you about this article/sticky I would be up for it!

Re: Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

T10,000 WSOP style 40 players

8 Green $25
8 Black $100
4 $500 Purple
4 $1000 Orange
1 $5000 Red

These will be played with 1255 Pharaohs I have coming (now using crap chips) using the $5 reds as $5000 chips in the tourney. I want to get $5000 Chipco plaques but getting 40+ of them isn't a cheap undertaking.

My Breakdown:

Blue 200
White 100
Red 75
Green 320
Black 320
Purple 160
Orange 80

Blinds are structured:

Level From Ante Small Big
1 11:00am 25 50
2 11:30am 50 100
3 12:00pm 75 150
12:30pm Break
4 12:45pm 125 250
5 1:15pm 250 500
6 1:45pm 500 1000
2:15pm Break
7 2:30pm 100 500 1000
8 3:00pm 100 1000 2000
9 3:30pm 200 2000 4000
4:00pm Break
10 4:15pm 400 4000 8000
11 4:30pm 500 6000 12000
12 4:45pm 500 9000 18000
13 5:00pm 1000 13000 26000
14 5:15pm 1500 18000 36000
15 5:30pm 2000 24000 48000
16 5:45pm 3000 31000 62000
17 6:00pm 4000 39000 78000

On a related note please take a look at my tourney page (http://ekroner.net/poker.htm) and PM me any comments if you have any. I took most of the rules from another friend's structure but tell me if I'm missing anything or anything is blatantly wrong. Thanks

Sorry the formatting on the blinds is so atrocious, I can't seem to make it look the way I want no matter what I do with it.

Re: Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

All you people handing out 16 chips to start a player should be shot! I firmly believe that 30 chips is the MINIMUM you can give a player in return for his buy-in. Here's what we do with a set of 500 chips (200 x $25, 200 x $100, 100 x $500)

T2500 (up to 10 players and 10 re-buys)

20 x $25
15 x $100 (the other 5 is kept aside for colouring-up)
1 x $500

If you have 11 or 12 players you can use 16 x $25, 12 x $100 and 2 x $500 and sill have enough chips for colour-ups and 8 re-buys. Re-buys should be handed out as 5 x $500 to make change from the chip-leader.

Blinds: (we do 20 mins for a 3 - 4 hour game)

25 - 25
25 - 50
50 - 100
75 - 150
Break + colour-up
100 - 200
200 - 400
300 - 600
400 - 800
Break + colour-up
500 - 1000
1000 - 2000
1500 - 3000
2000 - 4000

Works really well and we never run out of chips. I believe the $1000 chip is useless for us as even with a large game of 12 people with 8 re-buys you still only end up with 100 x $500 chips at the last blind levels.

Re: Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

I'm currently working on this. I'll be posting a draft shortly, just wanted to be sure we had as many contributions as possible first.

I'm starting to think the same way about our games and $1000 chips - they just aren't really needed, I might as well go with only $25/$100/$500. With 4-8 players, and only 10,000 to start, that's not a lot. I only remember one time in the last few months when we actually coloured up the $100 chips to just have $500s and $1000s in play. I'm probably going to arrange my current/future sets to not even bother with them.

It's nice to have as a "big" chip, though. Especially if you end up with a small stack of Egyptians octagons

Re: Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

Alright might as well add my 2 cents since I run weekly 20-30 man T10000 tourneys.

10000 chips:
- 20 $100
- 8 $500
- 4 $1000

Blinds:
100-200 15 mins
200-400 15 mins
300-600 15 mins
400-800 15 mins
BREAK... color up 100 dollar chips and disperse add-ons. My add ons are the price of a full buy in and the size of a full buy in with 10 $100 chips. Really builds the pot. This is also the end of the rebuy period. For the rebuy, they get 8 $500 and 6 $1000 for a full rebuy. Again helps build the pot. The rebuy gets no 100... just buys them off someone else since typically we will be running them off soon anyway... just saves me work.
500-1000 20 mins
1000-2000 20 mins
1500-3000 20 mins
break color up 500 with 5000 chip.
2000-4000 20 mins
3000-6000 20 mins
4000-8000 20 mins
break
5000-10000 20 mins
10000-20000 20 mins
and so on. We rarely make it past here.

Justin

Re: Post your starting stacks/blinds here for others' information

T150 in starting chips

T1-20
T5-14
T10-6

20 min. blind levels
1-2
2-4
3-6
4-8
5-10
6-12
8-16
10-20
15-30
20-40
30-60
40-80
50-100
60-120
80-160
100-200
150-300
200-400

We usually have a freezeout with 8-10 players, and it takes about 3.5 to 4 hours to finish. Sometimes we will allow unlimited rebuys for the first 3 levels, and the blind levels are shortened to 15 minutes. The rebuy tournies are usually about the same length. We don't often take any breaks or color up.

The thing is i have no idea what kind of blind structure i should use. Havent had a chance to use the chips yet, and normaly dont host a T10,000 so i'm kindof in th dark. I dont really want one of those WSOP marathons though lol. maybe a 4hr tourney? what do you guys sugest?
