I prefer pot limit omaha over no limit omaha. It allows people with good draws to stay in, which is the whole idea in omaha.
You should think about introducing Mississippi Stud. It will please the old timers who know how to play stud and is probably more exciting and creates bigger pots than no limit holdem, so the younger guys will learn to like it fast.
You can play it no limit, pot limit, or limit. It is basically the same as regular stud, except that instead of getting one card for 4th street and one card for 5th street, you get them both at the same time. So each player has his own individual flop. Then 6th street is dealt to each player, so each player has their own individual turn. Then the 7th street is dealt (face up instead of face down) so that each player has his own individual river. It is like texas holdem where everyone has their own board cards. If the river was dealt face down, hidden straights, flushes, full houses, and quads would hinder the no limit aspect of the game, so that is why it is dealt face up. For limit, you would deal the river face down.
I think Mississippi Stud is the wave of the future.
Also, I like draw high and Kansas City Lowball both played no limit.
Most people I play with are not interested in limit games, so I am teaching them Mississippi Stud and Kansas City Lowball, and they all know how to play draw. We sometimes alternate games every orbit.
