Chips: 14,477 | | Suggestion on this T200 structure Using Beauties we have been using this T200 structure for a few $20 tournaments. Any suggestions to improve it? Either one rebuy or multiple rebuys throught the end of the 5/10 round, decided before we start. Usually 7 or 8 players, 3rd gets $20 back and then 1st and 2nd are usually 2/3rds and 1/3rd of what's left which varies with the number of rebuys.
200 Tournament (15 min blinds)
Small / Big / Time
1 / 2 / 0:15
2 / 4 / 0:30
3 / 6 / 0:45
4 / 8 / 1:00 - Color up 1s
5 / 10 / 1:15 - End of Rebuys
10 / 20 / 1:30
15 / 30 / 1:45
20 / 40 / 2:00 - Color up 5s
25 / 50 / 2:15
50 / 100 / 2:30
75 / 150 / 2:45
100 / 200 - to the end
Starting Chips 200
25 Blue (1) 25
20 Pink (5) 100
3 Green (25) 75

Then it would be perfect. It should be one rebuy only in my opinion and third place should get 20% if its me, otherwise $20 is cool. I'm wondering if coming to the game dressed as a famous general/emporer should get you a free add-on, hmmm..........

Basically starting blinds are typical 1/50 starting stack.
This tourney usually takes about what 2-2.5 hours Matt? I know we keep screwing with the blinds, I think continuing them on further was a big help (hey I won, that's all that matters (saturdays game that is, almost forgot we played 2 nights)).

Chips: 1,728 | | | Re: Suggestion on this T200 structure My apologies, wrong calculation. I was thinking in terms of 40xBB and that would come out to 5, so 2/4 would indeed be the closest. Alternatively he could start with a 5/5 blind and move to 5/10 after the first 15 minutes and he wouldn't have to color up the T1 chips. Quote: |

Chips: 223 | | | Re: Suggestion on this T200 structure While 40xBB and 50xBB starting stacks are common guidelines, there is nothing at all wrong with 100xBB if you guys are ok with the tournament length and like the extra play at the beginning to get settled in. So 1/2 in the first round is fine.
According to homepokertourney, a good number for the highest big blind number is one-tenth of the total chips in play (with rebuys). 8 players x 200 = 1600, with rebuys lets say 3000, so you could have another 150/300 blind level at the end in that scenario. |

Chips: 14,477 | | | Re: Suggestion on this T200 structure With 15 min blind rounds - 100X the big blind for starting chips seemed to work better. If we dropped to 50X or a T100 tournament I think we should go to at least 20 minute or evern 30 minute rounds. Quote: |

Any additional comments?

Chips: 500 | | | Re: Suggestion on this T200 structure We run a T300 tourny with a similar blind structure and things seem to go fairly well. The blinds go up every 15 mins for the first few levels and drop to 10 mins for the duration of the tournament. They usually last 2.5 to 3 hours which works out well for all involved. I am currently looking at setting up a T1500 tournament in the next few weeks but will need to purchase a new set of chips before it becomes a reality.
