I agree with Capt's last point though, its one thing to come up with a great idea, and quite another to hussle up the enthusiasm in people to support it.
Yeah I was just kicking around the idea this weekend. I dont know how many people would be that into it.

Re: Shoot Out Tournament Question

Hey there!

I just wanted to update everyone on the outcome of my tourney! Well my original idea of doing a shoot out fell apart. I balanced tables as needed, by using the "2 less than the others" technique. When one table got down to 2 less than the others I moved a guy over there. If it was a blind seat that was busted I moved a guy who was in the matching blind, but if it was another seat I gave everyone a card and low man moved. Not the "offical" way to run it, but it worked.

For the most part everyone had a good time, we did have one guy who took things a little to serious, and he ran his mouth quiet a bit! But he busted out before the final table. I had 25 guys start at three tables and the whole thing lasted just shy of 4 hours:

Some interesting events.......

one guy busted 3 players on one hand, then a new guy gets moved to his table and he ends up busting him out as well

at the first hand of the final table two guys are short stacked one goes all in, the other calls, and the next guy goes all in- which made my decision to get out a whole lot easier (I was holding KJsuited) well KJ came on the flop and the big stack knocked those two out with a pair of J's!!!!

Down to 4 players guy on my left, playing really really loose all night goes all in, short stack (really short actually) calls him, and I am in predicament with pocket 7's...I decide to make the call....1st guy has pocket 6's (yeah me)....short stack has pocket 8's (not good)...flop comes with 6 and he has 100 more than me!!! oh well thats poker!!

Thanks for taking your time to look offer suggestions, and listening to all this rambling!!!
