Chips: 1,071 | | | SHOE Tournament Blind Schedule - Per Request This is a little hard to read, I have it in an Excel file and can e-mail to you if you PM me with your e-mail address.
I have not run this schedule yet, but I have another that I ran with 1000 starting chips, and it was a blast. Using this schedule next Saturday, I only expect one full table ( 8 ) , though we may have 9 to 14 and need 2 tables to start. The no-limit hold'em tournament starts later on Saturday and I will between 35 and 58 people playing.
4000 Starting Chips
Game Stakes* Ante Bring In
Stud 50 100 25 25
Hold-em 25/75 150
Omaha Hi/Lo 50/100 200
Stud Hi/Lo 150 300 25 50
Stud 200 400 50 75
Hold-em 150/300 600 75
Omaha Hi/Lo 250/500 1000 75
Stud Hi/Lo 800 1600 100 200
Stud 1000 2000 100 400
Hold-em 800/1600 3200 200
Omaha Hi/Lo 1000/2000 4000 500
Stud Hi/Lo 2000/4000 8000 500 1000
Stud 2500/5000 10000 500 1000
Hold-em 4000/7500 15000 1000
* Blinds for Hold'em and Omaha are listed in left column. |

Chips: 1,071 | | | By the way, the above schedule was originally supposed to be for 5000 in starting chips. Due to a time crunch for next weeks tournament I changed it to 4000 in starting chips. The SHOE tournament starts at 2pm and the no-limit hold'em at 7pm.
It will be fun either way. |

Chips: 732 | | | I'm confused
Stud 50/100 with 25ante/25bring (makes sense)
HE 25/75 with a "bring" of 150? What are you saying here...it's 150/300 with antes of 25/75?
or is it 25/75 blinds for HE (75/150 HE) with an ante of 150?
I think you mean it's 75/150 HE but please confirm.
EDIT -- or are you saying it's spread limit betting of 25/75 and a Big Bet of 150 (75/150 HE). |

Chips: 732 | | | Okay, last time I reply to this. I hadn't heard of SHOE before but was planning a HOSE tournament to show off my new poker table & host for the first time.
I wonder if it wouldn't be better to separate the Stud and S/8 games.
EHSO
EOSH
SHEO
SOEH
hrm....any suggestions anyone? I think I need new letters for (S)tud, (O)maha, (E) Stud Eight or better, (H) Hold Em |

Chips: 1,071 | | | Like I said it is hard to read unless you see the excel file.
The blinds are 25 75, and the limits are 75 150 |

Chips: 732 | | | I've been fiddling with this since you wrote your post. I can't decide if all games should have antes like you did it, or just keep S & E with antes and let O & H not have blinds. I think I'd prefer it this way, but it runs into the confused people factor.
Of course getting people to pay their blinds in S & E is hard enough with my group....*sigh* |

Chips: 1,071 | | | The schedule is derived from the WSOP schedules for stud and hold'em.
Most Casinos blind schedules have antes even for no-limit hold'em tournaments, though it usually starts around the 4th blinds level.
It makes for a little different game. Steeling the antes and blinds is definitely worth it. Though for quick simple home tournament antes are a pain to keep track of.
The last shoe tournament we had one table and played a complete round of deals and then changed the game. Once it got short handed it went to two complete rounds before changing the game. If you have two tables, it does not work and you have to use a timer.
There are no blinds in stud or stud hi/lo, just a bring in for the low card. |

Chips: 1,071 | | | In 2003 Negreanu won SHOE and Doyle Brunson won HORSE
In 2004 they did not have SHOE, but Scott Fischman won HORSE
If course this year, with all tournaments but the end of the Main Event being at the RIO they did not have SHOE or HORSE. AND everyone wants to play hold'em anyway.
I for one like hold'em, but definitely like to mix it up with other games, especially since I grew up playing stud and 5 card draw. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
