Just recieved this incredible set yesterday, it´s factory sealed. I´ve been very tempted to open it, but something tells me not to. What would you do????

(I guess I´m expecting an answer that says: "open it, play with them, that´s what they are made for¨).:embarras:

I really want to share this beauties with you.:)

I'd keep them sealed and use a setup of kem WSOP (seconds) on sale at most card retailers.

open it, play with them, that´s what they are made for.

    :)

..but really, what was your intention when you purchased them? If it was to play with them, then open them. If you just bought them as a collector's item to possibly flip later on then you should just store them away. They're probably no different from other Copags so you could probably get a newer setup on the cheap.

They're definitely harder to play with in cellophane. But if you don't plan to use them, keep 'em wrapped up.

I've owned a few sets of these (used and unopened) over the years but only have one set now (the one i bought sealed). I used them a few times but the red deck is bowing a little bit. I think it has something to do with the red color because in the previous sets, the red decks were also like that.

I say use em. You can't fully enjoy them unless you see them in live play.

Why haven't the "Don't do its" chimed in? I'm looking at you, Jamby, Krafticus, Babyfreak...

Keep them sealed. Post a WTB ad here on CT asking for a used setup from '06 you should find them. USPC makes WSOP cards from '07 to present. All copag WSOP cards were suppose to be destroyed after the WSOP each year.
If you want a used on of those (Kems) You can usually find them for around $15-20 range.
Good luck finding another Factory sealed setup of '06 copags.

    Leave them sealed...my 2 cents.

    I would keep them sealed.

I think the mystery and curiosity of these cards will die off and then you'll regret it...I would either find another Wsop open set up on ebay and use those or just use another plastic deck.

You don't find these cards sealed to often...You can gain profit for them years down the line.

Keep it wrapped up and sealed away somewhere you'll forget about them and don't think about it.

I'd leave them sealed......Unless I had a WSOP replica set from that year!

So what's special about these cards?
Any different from reg copag cards?

or just the "collector item" factor that makes them valuable

These are from the 2006 WSOP not available to the public. All cards were suppose to be destroyed. So I guess you could say they are pretty limited especially factory sealed unopened setup.
You see open ones from time to time on ebay.

    Ah i see thank you.

On a side note, are any of the KEM WSOPs from 2007-2009 used cards that were resealed for sale to the public or were these manufactured separately?

I believe some of the sealed ones were never put into play (depending on the year)
I have a few setups with a COA that says there were used but are sealed up.
Either way the KEM WSOP were made exclusively for the WSOP. After the WSOP they contracted with Gamblers general store to re-sell the used decks.
    I hope that helps.

I bought 3 unopened sets exactly the same as those from eBay in 2007. I opened all 3 of them! :) I actually like them much better than the new KEM's cause they seem to last longer. All of my KEM's always bow after such a short period of time. I never regretted opening them cause I got a lot of enjoyment from using them. I say... GO FOR IT! Once you die, someone else is going to inherit the cards and use them anyways!!!

WOW< would have loved to be able to get my hands on THREE sets of these before the
    prices went insanity....
I have one opened deck of these and they are very gorgeous....
I have one sealed setup also. I plan to keep it as a collector set for some time...
No plan to open them yet.

Keep em sealed; play with a 2008 set available cheap on ebay.

I've got set of those 2006, not sealed, and played in 2006 WSOP and had offers for $300 for it. So your's should go for well north of that offer.

Those cards RIO was contracted to destroy after the series, so the ones out were some dealer/floor risking their neck to smuggle out. Like I said, I've got 2 decks, but I've never even heard of "sealed" ones. If genuine you have a great item.

[Sorry I just joined forum and did not see I was answering old dormant threads.]
