Thanks. Now I don't feel so bad about my Vega GT.

Ever pull a bootleg turn in that Monterey?

Come on, Somebody here had a Pinto. Spill it.

1972 Dodge Charger (what were my parents thinking?) Smoking hot car, KILLER stereo, lots of fun...rolled it & ended up, upside down in a ditch. Fail.

...pic is a Google image I found -- just like this one. Sorta tough to follow that up with a Yellow Dodge Colt! :)

First car was an '84 Olds Omega my folks got for me when I got my license in 1990... that was an awful car but got me where I wanted to go.

First car I loved was my white '89 Pontiac Grand Prix SE I bought in '91, as an 18 year old kid it was awesome. It had 108 buttons reachable from the drivers seat with digital speedometer that I once had pegged at 134 for a full 10 seconds before giving up on getting it any higher... makes me cringe with my first born turning 16 in 18 short months.

First car - 1988 Pontiac Grand Am ("The Beast"). It had 75k miles on it when I got it and managed to put another 100k before I sold it to get:

1995 Dodge Neon ("The Great White Wonder"). Already six years old when I got it and only had 59k at the time (the proverbial 'little old lady taking it to church and the hairdresser.' Managed to put 110k miles on it myself before selling it to get:

2007 Mini Cooper ("Kepler" my first new car). First brand new car for me ever. Just turned over 76k and she's still purring like a kitten. I said when I got it that if I'm not able to put 200k miles on it I'm doing something wrong. I joke it's TARDIS like in that it can hold much more on the inside than the outside gives away.

As far as pictures go, I only have one of the Grand Am... taken through the back window of the pickup that was towing it on a tow trailer back home after I had some somewhat major radiator issues on the drive home from a long road trip. I have several of the Neon including an epic case where the paint had started to peel (stupid water soluble primer) and that spot looks just like a duck. I'll have to find that. Kepler has been relatively un-imaged but one of the best is at a pullout/parking area at Zion National Park with spectacular rock formations in the background and telescopes and cameras prepped for the eclipse two years back.

Humble automotive collection compared to what has been posted here for sure.

First car that I owned (1992) 1981 dodge 1500 hooked up on propane.....had a third of a turn of play in the steering column (no power steering)....I could drive er straight with a gentle back and forth on the steering wheel that became second nature. About four months after I got it dad let me drive his new dodge pickup and kept getting my ass chewed for zigzagging all over the lane (the second nature back and forth on the wheel)...he didn't believe the reason for it......till he drove my truck the next day.

UW I had a chance to buy a 71 charger when I was 17 (1995) it didn't have rust spot on it for $500 and passed for 91 cutlass calais. piss poor judgement on my part.

1st - '84 Buick Skylark - I tried doing my first oil change on this car. Didn't know the oil filter needed to be changed and overfilled it with new oil. By the time I traded it in it was taking at least a quart of oil a day and constantly overheating.

2nd - '96 Chevy Cavalier - My first brand new car. It was black with no A/C. I bought it in July. I traded it in the following spring.

3rd - '97 Chevy Cavalier - Bought because it was hot outside and it had A/C. This one was red.

4th - '00 Jeep Wrangler - Silver and manual with a black soft top. This one was eventually repossessed when my 20's got it the way of my brain.

5th - '01 Jeep Wrangler - Forest Green and manual with a black hard top. This one was also repossessed because I was still stupid and in my 20's.

    6th - '01 Chevy Cavalier - Blue and cheap

7th - '05 Pontiac Grand Prix - I forget the name of the color, but it was blue/purple/green depending on how the light hit it. This one was totaled by my GF at the time on our way to my parents house for Christmas. We hit a bad ice storm in central Missouri and ran off the road.

8th - '05 Pontiac Grand Prix - This one was graystone metallic. I traded it in when the trans started going bad. I was tired of the car and didn't feel like putting any more money into it.

9th - '08 Pontiac G8 - This is my current car and it is magnetic gray metallic. It is the V6 model and I will hopefully be selling it/trading it in for a G8 GT this spring.

1978 Ford Pinto, new to me in 1984.
1983 Ford EXP, new to me in 1986.
1991 Ford Escort first new car.
I did a fairly complete tour of the Ford 4 cylinder econo-boxes.

Looking at the picture of that Gremlin, you just have to ask, what the hell was AMC thinking? Between that and the Pacer, Matador and Hornet it is amazing they sold any cars. I Still drive by the old AMC world headquarters building all the time.

Hyundai Excel unibody, teal colored was my first car after I got my license. Drove it for 2 weeks and then some lady rear-ended me.......TWICE! and it was destroyed.

After that was a 1986 Ford Escort, Maroon colored. This was when I was an on-call firefighter at the tender age of 16, and so I wound up having a bar light on top of the car (that everyone called a siren, despite the fact that it flashed but didn't make any noises)

After that died my Aunt gave me her aging Monte Carlo which lasted a little while

My first car purchase was a 1995 Chevy Lumina, purplish colored

After that it was on to a 2001 Buick Century Limited, silver

Then a 2008 Pontiac G6 GT in red

And now a 2010 Toyota Camry in silver

My first car that I bought in 1985 was a Mercury Cougar XR7 with the 460 V8 for $750. Man could that car fly. After about a year, the engine toasted and rebuilt it. Zero to 100 in nothing flat. Gas mileage was horrible though, averaged about 8 to 9 mpg. The suspension was tired and sold that car to a toe truck company that was going to put the engine in one of their trucks. Then bought a new Subaru in 1987. The Subaru became the wifes car soon there after and I then bought a new 1990Ford Ranger. Really loved the Ranger, that was a great truck, cannot understand why Ford stopped making that truck. Had that until 2000 when I bought a 98 Toyota 4 Runner. The 4 Runner was a great SUV that I loved to drive but had to trade it in for two cars as we needed to give one of our cars to our daughter who needed one after having hers trashed in an accident. Traded the 4 Runner in 2004 for a 2002 Monte Carlo SS. The Monte Carlo is a fun car to drive. Great road control, great to drive in the snow, I have avoided many accidents from dipshits in the snow with it. Still driving the MC now but that is looking to change any day as I am looking at a new Toyota Camry SE.

1st: 87 Chevy Cavalier z24 (hand me down from sister)
2nd: 88 Ford Thunderbird (hand me down from aunt)
3rd: 98 Honda Prelude SH (my first manual)
    4th: 04 Lexus IS300 Manual (I loved this car)
    5th: 07 Cadillac CTS (leased)
    6th: 92 Toyota Corolla (bought for $350)
7th: 95 Honda Accord (hand me down from Father in Law)
8th: 99 Audi A6 Quattro Avant (drove for 1 month before timing belt broke. interference engine)
9th and current: 91 Toyota MR2 Turbo (this car is sweet~!)

I'm waiting for the Audi to get fixed, should be ready by end of the week, but trying to convince the wife to let me keep the MR2 which i bought on a whim to use while i wait for the Audi. The Mr2 is impractical as I am the only one that can drive it, and I can't put a baby seat in it, but its as close to a ferrari as I'll ever have.

You forgot the Sportabout, Eagle and their stationwagon. We also had a Sportabout in medium blue when I was a kid followed up by a heinous AMC station wagon in dark green.

Is that when the Bonnevilles had the HUD that would display information on your windshield? I remember drooling over those and the Grand Prix back in my teens.
