This might work or it might not.In one of the cell phone forums where I'm a mod,we started a thread like this.It opened up people to different types of music that they would have normally never listened to or never heard of.

Right now I'm listening to Avenged Sevenfold's Waking The Fallen cd.It's a totally different (I think better) album then City Of Evil thats getting alot of radio/video play right now. It's more metal! If you get the chance, and your a metal/punk fan,I highly recommend snatching this album up.

I am at work and stuck with the AC unit in the back office and a non-threatening 60s rock n roll station out front. It is Beatles Wednesday at the moment (just like EVERY Wednesday). Please shoot me now.

The Disco Biscuits of course. New album release is tomorrow night in Burlington, VT - I'll be there for the show. The Wind at Four to Fly is the album - here's a place you can listen to a couple songs....

You guys might want to check out http://www.pandora.com

It is really neat. The site was created by the same people who did the Music Genome Project. Basically, they have taken almost every song and categorized them using something like 400 different aspects of music such as tonality, harmony, vocal aesthetic, and a ton of others.

So unlike sites like Amazon that give you recommendations based on what other people like, this one tries to find common musical traits based on the songs or artists you enter. It's not always perfect, but it has definitely helped me find a lot of good music I would have never heard otherwise.

Haven't bought a new CD in a while, but I still listen to Damian Marley's "Halfway Tree" a lot.

I dig John Frusciante. TROWFTD and Shadows Collide With People are my favorites.

My latest: The new Flaming Lips (At War With The Mystics). It's excellent!

Right now I'm listening to the latest KGSR Broadcast CD vol. 13. It includes tracks by Lyle Lovett, Aimee Mann, Robert Earl Keen, Ian Hunter, Aqualung, The Greencards, Amos Lee, Arlo Guthrie, Sam Phillips, Buddy Miller, Bodeans, Steve Earle, Alejandro Escovedo, Ray Lamontagne and many others. I'm enjoying it.
