i am about to order my first tourny set. planning on running 10 - 20 person tournys. starting stacks of 5k rebuys, 10k and 20k freeze outs. i am planning on a 1200 chip set.

    t25 - 300
    100 - 400
    500 - 200
    1000 - 200
    5000 - 100

i am pretty sure this is enough for what i want to do. is it overkill? or am i way off base with my breakdown?

    any advice will be welcomed.

    thanks in advanced.

It looks pretty good with even racks...

If it were me I'd do 300/300/200/300/100... There isn't really a need for extra T100 as you can color up with higher denoms... More T1Ks will give you more flexibility...

Looks like overkill to me. You'll need 240 25s and 240 100s MAX for 20 players but it depends on what you'd like starting stacks to be.

CR is absolutely spot on about not needing the extra 100s for color ups and adding 1000s for more flexibility.

If you don't mind uneven racks, ^^^^ this for sure ^^^^!

Even in a pinch, with 240/240 you could run 30 players at 8/8...

    i definately want even racks.

i was thinking 20k starting stacks of

    12 t25
    17 t100
    10 t500
    8 t1000
    1 t5000

for monster stacks. but i guess i could cut the t100's to 12 and adjust from there.

    thanks for the input

I think 17 T100 might be overkill but hey, the more chips the better if you can afford! :)

I would definitely scale back T500s though... Those are just transitioning chips to T1Ks so I'd load more on the later...

A lot definitely depends on your level of chip OCD-ness!

If it was me, I'd do totals of 200/200/100/200(+?)/80(+?) and have 20 or so bounty chips.

    Can do 8/8/4/2 for 5k, 8/8/4/7 for 10k, 8/8/4/7/2 for 20k. Works for up to 24 players

If there's less players, you can give them bigger stack; 12/12/5/6/+...

thanks guys. i think im going with 300/300/100/300/100 that gives me room to grow if i need to, with a few extra chippies to play with.
