Well everyone it seems that weekly home games just aren't doing it for me anymore and I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding the Detroit poker rooms. Windsor is also in the mix. Looking to play $1/$2 tables or ~$50/$100 buy in tournaments. Now 26 I haven't sat in a casino for over 2 years due a bad beat and was wondering what to expect. I know there are plenty of newer conventions such as "the limping big blind," however, I'm just looking for a realistic assessment of the people and rooms. To be honest, I'm a tad nervous and was hoping someone here might shed some light. Thanks!

I got nothing for you about Detroit. I mostly play low limit hold'em cuz even $1/$2 is has some pretty crazy variance. So basically I have nothing for ya. :)

I do not play casino poker but I know many who do in detroit. Everyone I know says Motor City is the place to play. Biggest games and nicest room. I think MGM would be second, and Greektown (Jack) third. Also lots of charity poker at places like Doc's in Livonia.

I only play at the Detroit Casino's maybe once a year. I prefer the home games as does Mike.

When I do play its usually at Motor City. If you quit Casinos two years ago due to a bad beat be prepared to quit again. The 1/2 games are crazy aggressive (or at least every time I have played there).

If your interested in hooking up with some good home game poker where we play more than just Hold'em send me a PM.
