With the news that the Trump Taj Mahal is closing I was wondering how exactly people procure used casino chips. I know Aztars float around ebay and this site, as well as others. I'm just curious as to the process. I don't care much for the Taj chips, but if I could get a playable set, that would be pretty cool.

NJ law specifies that casino chips retain their face value forever. When the Taj goes out of business, it will be required to destroy all the chips it has, and post a cash deposit with the state gaming commission for all outstanding chips.

So a playable set is always going to cost you face value. Good luck!
