Punta Cana Poker Classic -- This looks very enticing for me, being as my SO has zero interest in poker, and I have 'nearly' zero interest in Caribbean trips without poker.

$500k guaranteed tourney, which is INCLUDED in your all-inclusive trip package. Last year 1st place was almost $160k, and it paid 50 places (about 10%).

[given... Dandi's tourney buyin might be wasted... but it's a great way for me to entice her to let me introduce her to the game and to coach her on the basics of an 'all-in-or-fold' strategy that might get her into the money if we're really-really lucky. :)]

    • I've been to the hard rock Punta Cana. Very nice place and all around great property . We've also had several clients go and loved it. It's a VERY large property but I like that but not for everyone. I've never played poker there though. But I did score a $1 poker chip.
    • Lmk if you need some prices or just advice, my wife is the best travel agent you'll ever meet:wink:
    • Punta Cana has top 10 beach in the Caribbean but HRC isn't on the best but it is a big nice beach but Bervaro beach would be my pick. But you there to gamble so you won have any problems but wanted you to know.
    • Ok I'm done trolling. :embarras:

@parrotheadMZ, yeah this would most definitely be a poker-centered trip. I'm thinking of a CT meetup..... Hmmmmm

If anyone listens to "The Tournament Poker Edge" podcast the hosts went there a few years ago. They said it was top notch for poker players. They were treated better there than almost anywhere they have ever been. (If you frequent casinos you know what they mean) Great food, affordable tournaments, good starting times (meaning if you bust you still can enjoy the day with your family) , good cash games and things to do for the others (non poker players) in your party and great beaches.

My family is planning a trip there in 2017. I just need to coordinate it with the classic.

TPE is there sponsor. I'll look up what episode a little later so you can listen to it if you want. the hosts of the tpe poscasts are family men so they aren't pros. thats why i'm going. my wife has zero interest also. she wont even consider sitting at a table. lol.

It was an episode in the mid thirties, where they had a professional dealer on. He's the one that mentioned it's the best place he's ever dealt it
