    Hi Everyone-

We would like to celebrate our return to Chiptalk with a ceramic poker chip design contest! To all you chip artists out there…it’s time to fire up your computers!

DESIGN OBJECTIVE: Create a semi-custom chip design for ceramic chips. Semi-custom means we’re looking for a design that has text which can easily be modified to customize as desired. Artwork can be for aligned or non-aligned edges.

CONTEST PRIZE: 1st Place will receive a 500 chip set, plus 10% commission on all sales of the chips with their design. The winning design will become a standard item on our website. By entering this contest, you are agreeing that we can offer chips with your artwork on our site if you win the contest.

CONTEST SUBMISSIONS: Sample artwork should be emailed to us (info @ abcgiftsandawards.com REMOVE SPACES). We will create a thread in our forum with your submission, where other Chiptalk members can provide feedback on your submission. You can make modifications based on feedback if you would like.

CONTEST DATES: We will take submissions January 11 through 30. The earlier you get your submission in, the longer time period you will have to get feedback. We will post a poll on January 26th open to Chiptalk members to vote on their favorite submission. The poll will be open January 31th through February 6th. The winner will be announced February 7th.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS: Artwork must have editable text. Acceptable file types are Adobe Illustrator, Coreldraw, .eps, and Adobe Photoshop. Contest submissions can be .jpg files, but final artwork must be in one of the listed formats.

Artwork should be sized as follows: Faces 1.565” diameter, at least 300 dpi. Edges .133” x 4.92”, at least 300 dpi. Any text or symbols on the edges should be no taller than .09”.

Thanks, and good luck to all who enter!

Gene. Can I nominate my Art Deco's? I can email them in .eps. I only have a measly Paint Shop Pro X3, but it should do the trick.

Artwork must have editable text. Acceptable file types are Adobe Illustrator,
Coreldraw, .eps, and Adobe Photoshop. Contest submissions can be .jpg files,
but final artwork must be in one of the listed formats.

I'll try to--as the Brits say--knock something up in the next day or two (knocking something up was a bad thing when I was a kid). Been busy installing bamboo flooring. Sadly, not in the poker room!

I think you can either mock something up or knock something out. Doing them together isn't good for you...

LOL...I'm with waffle...I'm not expert on British dialect, but I'm fairly certain that "knocking it up" can't be a good thing! :)

Gene, as I'm thinking finnish here, there's a couple of questions I have:

    CONTEST SUBMISSIONS: Done

CONTEST DATES: Is it ok, if I make the changes needed (according to feedback) and deliver edited chips before January 26th, to get the edited jpg-pics to the poll?

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS: If the jpg-files are ok for the contest submission (as they now are in the thread), will they be ok in the poll too? And when will the winner need to deliver the final file format artwork to you, the ones matching the requirements?

    Thanks.

.jpg files are fine for the polls, and any artwork revisions. If/when you do make artwork revisions, you can go ahead and just post them in the thread with your artwork...you don't even need to send them to me.

We will only need the artwork in the editable format from the winner after the poll is over.

    Thanks,
    Gene

I sent in a set for your consideration. Hope everyone likes it. I have even a few more ideas, so if my first one is no good, maybe I can send in a second one. I would love to win one round in one of these design contest.

Ahh...we received a submission but it didn't include the CT username...it must be yours! I sent you an email...we don't have the font so I need you to send the font file so I can post the artwork correctly.

    Thanks,
    Gene

Ditto. After looking at them all together on one image, im sure I will have to tweak some color combos, as there are a few that are too similar, but I'm looking forward to some general feedback.
