    Hi All,

Rummaging through my Brother in-laws attic and came across a interesting find. Around 1800 Top Hat and Cane Paulson chips from a casino in the Seattle area that closed about 20 or 30 years ago. A old friend of his was the night manager and gave him the chips when the card room closed. He had no idea they might be worth anything. I told him I thought they were Paulson chips but knew where I could find the scoop. He has between 1800 and 1900 chips in $0.25, $0.50, $1.00, $5.00, $10.00, and $25.00. The bulk of th set in $0.25 and $1.00. Any info on the value of a set like this would be much appreciated. If he decides to sell them you all will be the first to know!

I would guess between 1-2 bucks a chip in a playable set.

Interesting that there are different molds in the set. The 25c pictured looks to be on the LCV (long cane) mold, while the $1 is on the SCV (short cane) mold.

If you have an odd number of the chips I would very much like a sample set... I collect Washington State casino and cardroom chips!

I found a listing for the Airport Plaza Hotel in the chip guide. They only had images for the $1s and $5s, which match the chips pictured. The guide would likely welcome pictures of the rest of the set.

It isn't clear that the $0.50 chip and the $10 chip are from the hotel. The rest of the set look to be authentic.

I tentatively agree with the estimated value. However, these are rather unusual chips. Perhaps a unique set. This is not necessarily a good thing. No one is trying to complete an existing partial set. Few people have a special interest in the Airport Plaza Hotel. On a good day, these might bring $3,000+. On a bad day you might not get $800.

Still, it is a great find. All of us here would like to find a lost set of chips like this.

So is that a "No" on a sample set then?

If you need help packing them to ship, let me know. The last thing you want to do is sell them only to piss off a buyer by shipping the chips in a way that damages them.

We will all be curious about the "best offer" she takes. Pricing something like this is tough.

If there were more 5's I'd buy them. Hell, I'd buy if all 1600 were 5s. But my .25/.50 game only plays once a week. Such a close call! Check the basement, maybe there are more 5's ?? :)

Sorry about that Couga. I asked him about the sample set a few weeks ago. I probably should have followed up. My bad
