bellagio and mgm grand poker rooms come to mind first...and are both quite nice...although the bellagio poker $10 is uber-sweet and you could have twice as many! :)

i guess that is true, but i would rather not pay $20 per chip.
that's a little out of my price range.

Wait, I'm a bit confused. You want Las Vegas Casino chips (the $20) but you don't want to pay $20?

What am I missing? Do you mean you want chips that say "Las Vegas" but aren't true Vegas casino chips?

No he wants Las Vegas chips that are from a closed casino and would like to pay less than $20 each for them.

Unfortunately that is the rub. The $20 denomination is not nearly as common as some of the other denomsn and you are looking from Las Vegas only. The fact that the denom is realitivly rare and you are looking from the most popular casino collecting location means you are going to be paying a premium. About a year or two ago you could have gotten the Purple $20 stardust chip for about $17 each (which is a sweet chip). However now it is selling for around $50. The only other one that pops into my head is the Dunes Baccarat chip which is a 43 mm and goes for about $10 to $17 on a one at a time basis, and I have never seen them sold in quantity.

Other than that you are looking at current casino issues.

    Good luck in the hunt.

Might be a dumb question, but why not just go with a $25 chip? There should be plenty of them around.

Yea i think the $20 Dunes is going to be your best bet for a reasonable price (for paying less than $20 a chip).

Sorry in advance for the thread high jack.
I've been searching for $20 casino Paulson chips to fill out my new cash set.
Wondering what options are out there, doesn't need to be Vegas chips.

    Anyone got any good resources?

Re: Las Vegas $20 chips in quantity?

I agree with Couga and kmalsom. The only chips that I actively collect are of the $20 denomination from NV and Atlantic City, and so am fairly familiar with the market. The only chip I can think of which would fit your criteria is the $20 Dunes Baccarat chip. I think it's a great looking chip, it's from LV and can be had in quantity for less than face (from www.spinettis.com, as has been pointed out).

Of course two potential issues for you are 1) you are already using a Dunes chip for your $5 (if having them from different casinos is important); and 2) the chip is oversized, which must be to your liking (if having them of the same size is important). Unfortunately I don't think there are any other options which fit your criteria, but for the record I think the $20 Dunes would be a fantastic option. :)

If you are flexible on your criteria, a couple of options come to mind: I acquired my Palace Club Reno, Nevada Lodge Reno/Crystal Bay, Mitzpah Hotel Tonopah and Silver Bird Vegas all for less than $20, but none of them are Paulson H&C and I've never seen any for sale in quantity (although the first three are very regularly on eBay). If you're willing to pay face value, there are a number of current Vegas casinos which have a $20 chip, although you might only be able to get them in quantity at MGM, Venetian, Bellagio, and Wynn (and it would be a craps shoot of whether they would be 'Excellent' condition or not).

Finally, if you're willing to go beyond NV you can get the widely available Vineyards and PNYs for less than face and in the quantity and condition desired. There are also CA and Puerto Rico $20s that come up all the time on eBay.

    Good luck with your hunt!

thanks for all the info. it looks like i might just have to move on to an obsolete $25 chip since they are easier to find.

Re: Las Vegas $20 chips in quantity?

Glad I could be of help.:) I'm not as familiar with the $25 market, but honestly I think you'll have a job getting what you want for less than face if you are sticking with Vegas. The only ones that come to mind are the Dunes $25 (another fantastic option IMHO), and the Sahara Bud Jones CIC. Both can be had from Spinettis.

I've actually purchased a number of chips from Mike Spinetti (the owner) over the years, and he might be a good source to ask about possible other options (He's very knowledgeable and has-- no joke, I've been inside his vault-- hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of obsolete casino chips, not to mention being an all-around fantastic A+ guy). However, a few years back I decided to decorate my Christmas tree in $5 and $25 chips, and the Dunes and Sahara CIC were the only obsolete $25 chips I was able to get from him in the <$10 each range from any casino.

Again, if you are flexible on your criteria, you can probably get a few affordable options. I personally have probably 50+ Bud Jones CIC $25 chips from various obsolete Puerto Rico casinos that could be had for a steal (the Mrs. limits me to <20 chips on the Christmas tree nowadays-- mostly the Hard Rock Christmas Chips  ), but they wouldn't match each other and probably wouldn't match the rest of your set. But I'm sure other creative options are out there.

Anyway, good luck. If you convince yourself into paying face, I would also recommend as an alternative the Bellagio $10-- one of the best looking chips around!
