I've been lurking this site for some time. Finally registered
After 10 years in the Navy I've spent the last 20 years in the casino ceramic chip industry. Nearly 20 years ago I was hired by John Kendall of CHIPCO. Worked in the research and development department for a short time then moved to almost every area. At that time we were still developing the equipment and processes. I was lucky enough to either build, rebuild with modifications, or help design all of the equipment at CHIPCO. When I started we had a capacity of about 5k a day and we ended with our biggest production day in my memory at about 43k.

I was also responsible for bringing CHIPCO into the computer age. Putting us on the web back when Prodigy and dial up access was the norm.

Since the demise of CHIPCO I teamed up with the owners of the facility where CHIPCO was located and we started a new company. Game On Chip Company (GOCC). Because of the bank auction at closing much of the production equipment was taken. That gave us the opportunity to use the skills of the new owners as material handling experts and my expertise coupled with the other former employees of CHIPCO. We built what is now by far a superior production facility. All new equipment and new procedures that were developed from the good and bad of CHIPCO. GOCC, is by far now a superior facility with tighter standards and owners that have the financial where with all to follow through. One of the failings of CHIPCO.

As for my chips, hmm, definitely a one of a kind set. At one point we did a series of chips for Harley Davidson. That would be the denominational side. on the other side is graphics from the years we were doing work for the World Poker Tour. Collectibles, well the list is long. We did many projects through the years including stacks of chips that when stacked properly the edges revealed a special graphic. Special sets of themed denominationals for large casino etc. LOL, I can't confirm or deny I have any of those.

It's a pleasure to be here and I'll be doing the right thing by supporting the groups that through the years have supported the work me and my co-workers have done.

    :)

Hi. Come on in. Welcome to ChipTalk. Today we'll serve Grilled Peppered Steak. We need 2 pounds flank steak or tri-tip, cut into 8-ounce pieces, 4 tablespoons black peppercorns - lightly cracked, 2 tablespoons kosher salt, 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 1/4 cup red onion - minced, 1 tablespoon garlic - minced, 1 cup Cabernet Sauvignon, 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Well, you know how to grill a steak. To go with, my favorite, Sangre do Toro, the best red wine one can have with pepper steak.

Awesome to have you here. Like said, chip pr0n is obligatory .

We would be happy here to answer any of your questions. It's quite a history to be honest.

We've also been brainstorming today for some creative sets that can be out for the holiday season.

Welcome GOCC as the newest ChipTalk Gold sponsor. I have moved this intro thread into your new forum as a seed for discussion. And I slightly edited the title to add the company name.

Great! I see that you have 3 different types of chips listed on the website; Ceramic, Plastic, and a two piece composite. It would be nice to be able to take a look at them. Are you offering sample sets yet? Could you give a pricing breakdown with aligned/unaligned edges and or faces for each type of chip?
