Newbie Tip Of The Day - Tip # 100
    Benefits to Joining the [IMG]

I wanted to make tip #100 one of the most important tips that I have discussed so far over the past few months. This tip is so important to me that even though I have discussed it way back in my first week of posts, it is important enough to discuss once again.

If you have read all my tips and are still not convinced that the [IMG] is for you, I wanted to once again summarize some of the benefits to joining what I believe to be one heck of a great organization.

Rather than tell you again in my own words, I found a post a few weeks back listed in the Frequently Asked Question section of a web page hosted by Tyrus Mulkey and I wanted to reprint it here. I have edited it slightly as it was quite out of date, but other than that it is exactly how it appeared all those years ago.

What are advantages of membership in the CC&GTCC?

    There are several advantages...
    1. Quarterly magazine - The Casino Chip and Token News (An Award Winning Magazine)

    2. Access to dozens of books in the club Library.

    3. Superior trading status - as a member of the [IMG], people will be more trusting in their trade transactions with you because they know you're bound by the Code of Ethics. Additionally, members prefer to trade with other members, and in fact, some people will only trade with club members.

    4. Ability to vote for the Chip Of The Year, Silver Strike Of The Year, Token Of The Year, and Card/Key Of The Year.

    5. You can pre-register for the convention and get one of the famous goody bags.

    6. You can attend the Early Bird Banquet before the convention.

    7. You can be listed in the public, online Club Directory (along with your email and website URL) for others to learn about you and your collecting interests.

    8. You will develop life-long friendships with other club members.

    9. You receive a membership card and are entitled to use the club logo on your business cards and web pages.

    10. You get to have a vote in the direction of the most influential organization in the hobby.

    11. You have access to the full Club Directory that contains many names and addresses not available in the public, online directory.

    12. You have the honor of belonging to an organization that takes its ethics and codes of conduct very seriously.

    13. You have the honor of belonging to an organization dedicated to the preservation of part of our nation's history.

    14. You can take advantage of the club Ask an Expert Program

    15. You can take advantage of the club Mentor Program

You can get all this and a whole lot more for the nominal fee of just $30 a year. The Magazine alone is worth joining.
You can even join and pay your membership fees online by using the following link.

A recent change on TheChipBoard may have resulted in all TheChipBoard links referenced herein to become invalid.

Doug Smith has recently made a new post that lists and re-links all 100 posts. That link is: Extra! Newbie Tip Of the Day Repost 1 Thru 100 Extra!

    Enjoy!
