Cter Lars3159 contacted me about a week ago to see if I could help him with a Paulson re-label project that he wanted to do. The guys he plays with are a bunch of perfectionists aparently, so he thought that it would be cool to put together a theme based on the phrase "close only counts in Horseshoes and Hand grenades."

While I put together the bones of a design relatively quickly, some of the finishing touches have been a bit more difficult to pin down, and Lars3159 has asked me to post some of the most recent options I've delivered for feedback.

So, let me know what you think.

    A. Bronzeish Gold Logo, Edgespot matched denoms
    [IMG]

    B. Bronzeish Gold Logo, Base color matched denoms (edgespot for white and black)

    C. Silverish Logo, Base color matched denoms, color matched grenades.

As usual, comments on any or all of the above options are welcome.

    UPDATE:
New version of the design (horseshoe pointing up)

    I think A or B. C seems a little light.

A., but darken the text even more? Reduce the size of the "&" and possibly the caps. Great horseshoe, but that's a lot of text to deal with...

Melikey C, only darken the text a bit. Love the color matched grenades.

Personally, I like 'B' for the graphics, and especially for the denom colors.

Might want to play with removing the 'Club & Casino' text, or maybe adding 'Club' or 'Casino' (but not both) below the 'des' in 'Grenades'. The 'Club & Casino' text seems very tiny on my screen (which depicts the chips as huge), so I'd be concerned that it wouldn't be legible at all on an actual 1" or so chip label.

So that's the destiny of my PCA $1 secondaries, eh? lolz Nice chip selections for the set.

Agreed. Plus one point on the basic design: horseshoes open downward like that traditionally mean bad luck; horseshoes with the open end up hold good luck.

Maybe the buyer just isn't superstitious!

Revised my vote to B for the color matching denom values.

I wonder if the light text font of C would work if it had an outline? Maybe have Club & Casino dark and outline the rest?

    Just sayin'...

Yep-that is what the PCA $1's are for. They have really grown on me. I love the simple green and gold as well as the large inlay.

Me too. I've kept one rack just for a future re-label project as a high denom for a RHC tourney set.

What are your other chips? I think the greens are maybe Mark Twains, and the blacks are Bremertons? Dunno about the reds... didn't recognize them.

Updated the Op with a new version of the design where the horseshoe is pointing UP.

Great design so far Erik. Not sure I understand the Horseshoe in the theme!

However I personally think the denom needs a little work. The text and horse shoe are fantastic, detailed and involved text with 'character' but then the denom just looks like an afterthought - no real texture - it has a shadow when the other text is embossed/highlighted.

As always just trying to help and play devil's advocate - great design that's almost there.

Hey there! Good design, whether it looks a little too busy for me.

Have you tried to use just one hand grenade as an "a"? I would give it it try: just just the icon in GranAde... maybe even e little bigger...

I think the shoe looks better pointing down. What does everybody else think?

Yeah. I wonder why every barn and racetrack in the country has the horseshoes mounted on the wall with the open end up?

Not to mention those stupid Indianapolis Colts -- what's wrong with them?

Yeah, I like how it looks pointing down, but that is a sign of bad luck.

The horseshoe should point up (as it is supposed to catch and hold any luck that may be around). If it is pointing down, the luck will fall out and there won't be any there.

    So...

Looks better down, but really should be up.

Luck? I don't know anything about luck. I've never banked on it, and I'm afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else. Hard work- and realizing what is opportunity and what isn't.

I am new around here and have taken a serious chance quoting Lucille Ball. I hope I am "lucky" enough to be taken seriously in the future.
