I can't believe I just found this out now. Got through the field of almost 700 players to win almost 400k.

    DN Wins BCPC

I heard a story from a dealer at the tournament that apparently goes something like this.

    Player "A" raises from button
    DN calls from BB
    flop 55J
    DN bets
    A rasies
    DN re-raises
    A folds JJ face up!!!
    DN shows 55!!!

DN says its the best laydown he's ever seen

Given how passively Daniel said he played that tournament, I almost believe that story.

I feel like it's a pretty -EV laydown though... maybe a physical tell? Maybe Daniel wiggles his nose and clicks his teeth when he flops quads. =D idk.

He probally gave away his hand with talk alone, had to be something pretty evident to lay down a flopped 2nd nuts type hand

I will lay that down 0% of the time. Never. Ever. And still won't. Ever.

Folding the 2nd nuts bc you think you've run up vs quads??? Is that even possible??? :stunned:

I would love to find out who made that laydown

A reg in the 5/10 I play cashed 6th in this event... knocked out by DN w TT v KK AIPF when the blinds were huge.

He also got ~5th last year. (too lazy to look up exact place for last yr)

His mom works in the cage at our regular casino and has been excitedly telling everyone about it for a couple weeks now.

Same. As Vince Van Patten would say, show tunes would be going off in my head.

Apparently it was some guy who came up from Cali...

That is a pretty sick read for anyone to be able to lay that big of a hand down in that spot. :stunned:

Seriously. I'm not even sure I could fold it if he showed me that he had pocket 5's! :stunned:

Never folding it - even if I got beat by quads the last 18 hands in a row...

    I just suck that bad.

Maybe Player A knew DN had a solid read on him, and when he showed strength, DN accelerated anyway. J5 was out of the question, so that only leaves quads. Hey, it's possible.

I know that I would never fold it and I would think that the only way anyone would ever fold that hand is if they actually saw the quads before they acted.

Keep in mind, this was a big tournament with a 400k 1st place. Maybe the guy was just that rattled about the money/playing with DN??

Very close to my feelings also. '

Just for further info, last years runner up (a bit short stacked) was knock out at the end of the first day with AK vs opponent's QQ.
