    Hi there,

I just finished to compose my Mixed Cash Set of 500 Paulson (THC mold) Hotstamp Casino chips.

Each denom belongs to one particular casino. And I want to write and print a small booklet explaining in few lines and picture the history of the casino / cardrooms.

    In my set I've :
    - 150 x Pink Cherry (Sweden) : For this one I already have quite some documentation. Maybe one picture of the Cherry Casino where this chip has been issue would be great. I'll use this chip as a nickel or dime depending on the game I'll play (NL10 or NL20).
    - 100 x Lakeshore 25c : I found some information about this one. It's located on California side of Lake Tahoe. Now California City is a ghost town and some pics of the abandonned inn are even available. I'd glad to find some history and pictures of its opening era : 1985 -1986. I'll use them for NL10 game.
    - 100 x Fitzgerald's (Reno) : I've all I need here. I'll use them for NL20 game.
    - 100 x Prosperity I Cruises $1 : I just know they are from a casino boat which operated off Key West, Florida and that it has been destroyed by a hurricane. I'd be glad to get the opening era (begin and end dates), pictures of the boat, some history, ...
    - 40 x The Post $5 : I just know that this cardroom opened for one year in San José, CA in 1971 (not sure) for 1 year. I'd like to find some more history and pictures if any.
    - 10 x Silver Star $25 : I know it's a former casino from Downtown Las Vegas operated by Brenda Binion's, the second daughter of Benny Binion's. However I'd like to have more info about operating dates, if the casino had another name before, if it has been renamed after, ... I'd like to get more history and some pictures if any.

Thanks in advance for your help !

Silver Star was Opened and Closed in 1978. It was located at 207 N 3rd St in Downtown maybe in the current Hogs and Heffers saloon building or in that immediate area.

You might want to check on the facts for your Lakeshore chips. If they are indeed from California City, that is nowhere near Lake Tahoe. Cal City is a planned community of sorts in the Mojave Desert that is very large geographically, but the population never took off. However, it is still a fully functioning city, so calling it a ghost town might be a bit extreme. It features a golf course and artificial lake, so there may well have been a gambling establishment with a name like Lakeshore there too. I'm sure there's plenty of interesting information out there if you dig deeper. Good luck with your project!

    Where it says :
    21130 Lakeshore Drive
    California City, California
    Type: Card Room
    Status: Closed
    Open: 1985, Close: 1986

For the Ghost Town thing, you are definitly right.

Based on the matchbook in the link below, I'd be inclined to believe California City as the location, while the California side of Lake Tahoe appears to have been a bad assumption from an old eBay listing. The area code on the matchbook is slightly puzzling, but that's a mystery for another day.

It might be a good idea to post this at thechipboard.com. It's the hangout for collectors of single chips and other casino stuff -- lots of knowledge there. You'll get better responses there if you use your real name.

The chipguide might have some of the info you're looking for.

And I second Abby's suggestion of checking out the chipboard. If nobody there can help you I'd be very surprised.
