1-2 NLHE 10-handed. Middle of the session last night. Mixture of players, mostly some variety of LAG and Loose-Passive. Several hyper-LAGs.

My version of Dr Strange's Crazy is UTG with $1200 (but down $700). He has been in Crazy God-Mode for 2 weeks. Up nearly $10k in that time, despite questionable play, at best. He believes that he cannot lose.

He raises to $11 under the gun. 5 calls to me on the button.

I look at K:spade:T:spade: and call. SB folds. BB calls.

7-handed to the flop. $78 in the pot.

    Flop is J:heart:9:spade:7:diamond:

Amazingly, the flop is checked around to me. I am sitting on $315 or so after the pre-flop call. Average stack is around $300.
What do I do with my double-gutshot?

check, a free card in this scenario could give you the nuts and give other opponents some marginal hands. check and hope for a spade redraw Q or 8 and re-evaluate

I check too. With a bunch of LAG's the last thing you need is a check raise that you can't call. Fist pump check!

    Hero should semi-bluff here if:
    - There is a reasonable hope the field will fold (dubious)
    - There is a reasonable hope to get a multi-way call (four way action or more)
    - give a bias to betting if hero is likely to get checked to on the turn (and might take the free card)

I lean towards a $50 bet, hoping to build a big multi-way pot and plan to check behind on turn bricks (and not bluff the river on a second brick). Hero should check here if there is much history of check raising.

    garçon, check please.
A bet is a bluff and I don't think everyone is folding.

Agreed on all fronts. If we check, these LAGs are going to be firing away on blank turns. Several very good things can happen here with a bet - $50 sounds fine.

    7-handed to the flop......

    Beware the multiway flop.

Hero listens to Dr Strange and Ben and bets $50.
Crazy calls. One other player (who I think of as Crazy Jr) also calls.

    Appx $225 in the pot.

    Turn 3:spade:

Two checks to hero who sits on appx $270.

    Action?

Shove. Too many outs, and no reason to give up the aggressive stance on the turn.

This is one of those good things that could happen - only 2 loose callers and we pick up spade draw. Bet $150. Get guy with 98 to fold. Guy with QT wants to gamble and calls. Brick river, win $525 pot with king high. Easy game.

I'm shoving here almost 100% of the time unless I get a crazy read on someone.

In my game this is an easy check, maybe not in this game. The guy with A7 or K9 is often calling the $270 bet and the guy with top pair was planning on a check raise.

So the question for Hero is . . . . Do you have fold equity if the villains hold one pair? If yes, then jam. If no check behind and get your value from times you hit the river.

    I shove.
    Crazy calls.

    River blank.

Crazy shows A:spade:Q:spade: and takes the pot with A high.

Sometimes you just have to embrace the variance.
