NEW Pharaoh's Club Clay Poker Chips

I'd like to introduce you to the new line of true clay poker chips from TheChipRoom.com and ChipTalk.net. We have teamed together to bring to the you a new version of the famous Pharaoh's Club poker chips.

The new line continues to be produced as a true compression molded clay chip. Now the Pharaoh's Club will have a unique custom mold, larger inlays, and two new designs -- A 5¢ chip and a $5000 chip.

Below are the latest images of the new line of chips and instructions on purchasing them. Jim Shaffer will take over editing this post to keep the latest info readily available. Once again we all owe John Faulhaber (Johnny5) a big "thank you" for helping bring the original design to the New Pharaoh's Club clay chips. We decided to keep all the exact same colors and edge spot (insert) colors in order to match existing sets of Pharaoh's.

The ChipTalk membership has helped design a new insert progression scheme. We are pleased to have secured authorization to use some new unique spots from this manufacturer such as the "8V" configuration.

Subscribe to this thread to watch for news of the final versions and shipping information.

    CHIP UPDATE 1-11
GOOD NEWS!! The chips are on their way. We are still trying to nail down when they will land and clear customs and a Bill of Lading for our customs broaker and to make sure what they shipped. They should be in our warehouse by Friday, barring any customs delays.

    CHIP UPDATE 1-14
Just got a call from Delta Airlines. The chips are on the ground in Michigan!!! Still don't have the Bill of Lading, hopefully it is with the shipment.

    CHIP UPDATE 1-15
Just got a call from the freight forwarder. The chips somehow cleared customs, without the Bill of Lading. It must be with the shipment. The chips are on a truck heading to The Chip Room!!!

Re: Introducing the NEW Pharaoh's Club Poker Chips

Now let me give you a little background and a short story of how we got here.

The Pharaoh's Club poker chip line came to an end in July 2009 when the original Paulson version was discontinued. While stock may remain at a few stores for a short time, there will be no more Paulson versions produced. I have never considered retiring the line though, it's just too historic to let go.

The first ever purchase of Pharaoh's Club chips was in early 2005 and it was a grass roots effort among individuals looking for a great new chip. As the largest group buy of chips ever on this site (possibly ever anywhere), it was meant to take advantage of volume pricing to get everyone the best price possible. In the last four years Paulson and other true clay chips have increased in price so much as to be out of reach for many home poker players.

In order to keep the Pharaoh's Club chips in reach of the average home player, we chose to build the new Pharaoh's line on one of the most successful true clay chips in the last two years. So far chips of this type have been sold exclusively here at ChipTalk.net (see the compression clay Desert Palms and Dunes Commem.). Pharaoh's Club chips are one of the most successful and widely known lines of fantasy casino chips ever. We want to make the new Pharaoh's Club the best value in the market of a true compression molded clay chip.

We hope the experts will get samples and recommend the new Pharaoh's Club clay chips to those players that want a true clay chip at a great price. We also hope that these new clays can augment existing Pharaoh's sets that need topping off.

As always, we welcome any questions and comments.

The "Pharaohs" mold is OUTSTANDING. This is a really great idea and if the quality is as good as my compression molded Dunes Commemoratives then I say you have another winner on your hands.
    Great, great chips. Good Luck.

I always thought that the smaller inlay on the Paulsons made the terrific designs hard to appreciate...so this is a sensational development. They look great!

I've been considering a cash set of the DPs, as an inexpensive alternative to Paulsons, so I'll be watching this thread with interest...what a great idea!

Not sure about that spot on the $5 chip, but the new iteration looks great. The mold with the word Pharoah's twice is sick.

Are these the same composition as the DP/Dunes compressions on a different mold?

Please make them 39mm (Dunes/DPs are 40mm). That way people with existing sets can add-on without a size disparity. Interested in a tourney set!

that mold looks good. if they are anywhere NEAR the quality of the DP's, then awesome. The only thing I'd like to see, and it's very picky, is that the labels be oriented the same direction on both sides of the chip. Not many chips do this but it gives the chip an extra WOW.

OP says inlays, but I am assuming these will be labels?

That $5 spot config is NOT the final. It will be just like the original Pharaoh's.

Congrats on getting this off the ground, Greg & Jim.

Regarding the mold... Great idea to have a "house mold". I'm a big fan! :)

Somehow having 3 hieroglyphs between the words makes it look too busy in my eyes. Perhaps just one glyph, or perhaps re-space (lessen) the lettering slightly so there's more distinction between where the word "Pharaoh's" ends and the glyphs begin.

Some pros and cons to this: Having a single glyph makes it look more like the "Pauslon Chips" mold (at first I thought that might be a con, but keeping in mind some might mix chips, it might be a pro). Also, that seems to be the norm in real casinos - see Excalibur's and Caesar's Palace house molds - a couple of my favourites!

*EDIT* Here's one more. Hard to see in this pic, but might be the best to use an example. Has the same name twice, with a "glyph" in between.

    Greg,

great job. I have always thought that I would not get a set of Pharaoh's. I have a sample set of them though. But when you now have told here the whole story behind the chips and especially with this new version of them, I think I also just have to get a set of these new Pharaoh's, when they become available. Very beautiful job. Melikes.

I must say, I'm liking the mold on the first prototypes as well. I wonder if it'll be available on another line.
