A close friend came across some older chips, looks like 30's or 40's. I thought I'd go ahead and post a couple of threads here so we can see if anyone knows anything about these.

I have done no research yet, I wanted to post this to get the ball rolling while I had a minute to spare.

This thread is to discuss the "Sunset Club" chips as seen in the attachment. He has 94 Sunset Club chips.

If he is interested in value for a potential sale, you may not want to reveal how many of the chips he has. I have no idea what/if anything they are worth, but if they are extremely rare, you could be doing him a disservice.

I always post the #'s when I find once rare chips. This is the honest thing to do and I'm surprised someone here would suggest to do otherwise.

Agree... and it's exactly why I did it. My friend is not looking for maximum profit, he just wants to know what he has in his hands. He is actually a sr. numismatist by trade, for coins. He just came across these chips and they are not his wheelhouse for placing value.
